I found the story started great, and then nothing keeps your interest. Which was a shame because I could have related to the characters. Did not enjoy the narrator. The accent/inflection changed within characters and I found it hard to stay focused and involved in the story, (I spent far too much time trying to figure out who was speaking) The reviews for M.K.A. were so good tho, I tried another, with different Narrator. Savannah Blues was a great listen !!
Maybe reading it might have been a better option for me.
Her drawn out and dramatic endings to practically every sentence of Charley's dialogue, once picked up on, are impossible to not focus on. They ruined the story for me.
A less predictable story
By adding more interesting problems for the characters to face. Also, I usually enjoy MKA because I learn something about second hand shopping or design, etc,. but there was nothing in this book for me.
I think she did a good job with the material she had.
No, it was cookie cutter chic-lit. Won't recommend.
Her earlier books are, by far, more interesting to listen to.
Voices were annoyingly cute and hard to distinguish from each other.
I loved the first book but this one left me annoyed. A certain characters voice was so grating on my nerves I wanted to shut the book off, and the story focused entirely too much time on her "womanly duties".
Other that those two things, I could still pick out the humour the author had written in the story, as she had in the first, which I enjoyed so much. I will still move onto the next book in the series.
I loved this book. The narrator was amazing and the story was so well written. I even rewound some chapters to hear them again. Never done that with a book before. Well worth the money !!
This book was too predictable. The weak lead character drove me crazy and I almost didn't finish it. I miss the writing of her earlier books. The narrator was good keeping the characters separate, however every women had a whiney voice and that got old quickly.
This book was easy to listen to and kept me entertained throughout. I liked that she narrated it because I think she made it more interesting than if I would have read the book myself. Worth my credit.
I don't see what the fuss was about. It took me almost a month to get through this book. nothing about the story grabbed my interest. I only finished it because it was there.
The narrator did a great job.
I loved the first book and most of the second. But about 3/4 through and after ridiculously long chapters about a sex faery, I lost interest. And altho I finished listening to the book, I can't remember what happened. That's not a good sign.
I listened to the whole book and stayed interested through most of it.
The narrator does a brilliant job with all but the main characters voice. It was incredibly whiney and annoying. It bothers me when the female leads voice is childish and weak. Read the other reviews before buying it, they are all correct, it does spend the entire book setting up for another book in the series and nothing gets solved, the writer does spend a lot of time describing things, it is missing something.
I enjoyed it despite these things. And after 24 hours of listening there are bound to be things that annoy you, but I think it was worth my money.
