Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....

It was what I expected. The writing was good, so I was a little disappointed she didn't make it more interesting. But it is just a fun girlie read. Narrator did a good job

Here's the delightful new novel from Clare Naylor, whose sleeper hit Dog Handling was one of Cosmopolitan's Best Beach Reads for 2002. Fresh and fun, The Goddess Rules is an outrageous, wry, and razor-sharp portrait of a girl who thinks her life is just fine, until she meets a woman who swears by the belief that life is meant to be fabulous.

I had to struggle to get through this book.

As a previous reviewer has said, the narrator got one character "spot on", but the rest were carbon copies. One for male, one for female.

The whole book felt like it was written under a deadline and needed to "filled in" rather than having any story to tell.

I love the others, but this one was no where near as entertaining. The narrator changed voices mid character, and more than once pulled my focus from the story to cringe at the reading. This book fell flat.

Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

I just finished listening to this book and it was completely entertaining!! The story was well written and the narration was incredible.. Kathleen Wilhoite is now a favorite narrator and I will seek any other books read by her. The story was light, moved at a good pace but well researched and actually taught me things. High praise for this book.

They’ve been divorced for four years, she’s engaged to a new, terrific guy, and she’s ready to leave the small town where she and Mason had so much history. She is so over Mason that she has absolutely no problem attending his wedding to the beautiful, intelligent, delightful Celia. I agree with previous poster that the "quirky characters" are missing. It was a cookie cutter ChicLit. Was hoping for something more interesting to evolve in the storyline. The narrator didn't bother me as much as other posters, but nothing stood out about this book.

Frieda Klein is a solitary, incisive psychotherapist who spends her sleepless nights walking along the ancient rivers that have been forced underground in modern London. She believes that the world is a messy, uncontrollable place. The abduction of five-year-old Matthew Farraday provokes a national outcry and a desperate police hunt. And when his face is splashed over the newspapers, Frieda cannot ignore the coincidence: one of her patients has been having dreams in which he has a hunger for just such a child.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought the narrator did a great job keeping the characters separate. The story was predictable, but interesting. It was a shame so much of the story was used setting up the series and not concentrating on the story itself. I would still recommend it tho.

The two-time Emmy Award-winning actress has written her first book, a surprisingly raw and triumphant memoir that is outrageous, moving, sweet, tragic, and heartbreakingly honest. Guts is a true triumph - a memoir that manages to be as frank and revealing as Augusten Burroughs, yet as hilarious and witty as David Sedaris.

The narrator could use some work on the other voices, it was hard to distinguish sometimes, but her voice was perfect for the main character so she made it work. Overall, very happy I bought it

A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

I like his voice, he narrates very well. I was disappointed that the title hinted at more stories than biography. But an average Rob Lowe story, is 100 times better than any of mine, so I enjoyed the listen.
