I purchased this book almost 2 years ago and it has remained on my player almost constantly. I recommend the pair's other book "Relax Your Body" a bit more. For my personality the various techniques and rationale work better.
I purchased this book almost 2 years ago and still listen to it. I am now getting some other relaxation books by Dr. McKay to add some additional variety. What I like best about this book is that there are a number of techniques and Dr. McKay's explanation for why they work. I decided to finally review this book after catching myself quoting him to someone else - encouraging them to use the techniques in their life. I admit I don't use it as often as I should, but when I do I always see results.
I purchased this book quite a while ago and I still listen to it periodically. I enjoy the visualizations, but often am not "in the mood" for them. It is incredibly relaxing but I enjoy the "Relax Your Body" by the same author more. I really prefer the explanations of the various techniques introduced there, for me the rationale helps.
I don't remember why I chose this book but I'm glad I did and I can't wait to see what happens next. I was completely unaware of it's popularity and that it is being made into a movie, so that wasn't any part of my motivation. I even listened to parts of it in the car with my kids (not normal for me) and they were getting into the story as well. This narrator is superb, with a wide range of tones and voices; it's almost like having a full cast recording. That being said, even the best narrator can't do anything with a poor story and here we have the best of both worlds!
