The imperial Majesty Lionstone XIV ruled the human Empire with fear. When Owen Deathstalker, unwilling head of his clan, sought to avoid the perils of the Empire's warring factions, he unexpectedly found a price on his head. He fled to Mistworld, where he began to build an unlikely force to topple the thrown. With the help of his crew, Deathstalker took the first step on a far more dangerous journey to claim the role for which he'd been destined since before his birth.

I must say this is some of the best Sci-Fi on Audible for pure entertainment. I'm a OTR truck driver. I can put in 1500 to 2000 miles a week easily. I like saving my Audible books for the long non stop miles/hours I put in every week. I must be careful with this book not to run out of gas. I can't tell you how many times I have woke up to find I missed my exit 20 minutes ago.

The characters are great and the actors who narrated this production are splendid. There are many side stories going on at the same time that are all equally exciting.

As to the comment below about all of the swordfighters being perfect, . . all I can say is you don't get beaten or killed if you are indeed perfect. If the side comments between charactes is meant to lend humor to the story it was successful. I have laughed myself to tears more than once and I welcomed the added length to the story.

I am looking forward to the 2nd and 3rd collections in this series.

In a single cataclysmic moment, First Sergeant Samuel Adams "Goose" Gander finds himself center stage in the opening act of the Apocalypse. Goose and the men of the 75th Army Rangers fight to survive a massive attack on the Turkish-Syrian border. Battling his own failing faith, Goose prays for the lives of his men and the innocents who are caught in the rain of bullets and missiles.

Imagine the rapture taking place in the middle of a hard fought battle while you were fighting a non believing enemy. Consider the impact on the soldiers who are "Left Behind". Better yet, listen to this book, you won't be sorry.

    I'm ready for book two.
