    It was just another after-work happy-hour bar downtown, where business professionals unwound with a few drinks, complained about the boss, maybe hooked up with someone for the night. Until something went terribly wrong. At first it was just a friction in the air. The noise intensified. The crowd seemed oppressive. Some sharp words were exchanged, some pushing and shoving. Then the madness descended. And after 12 minutes of chaos and violence, 80 people lay dead.

    This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    I bought this book based on the rave reviews because I love mystery & thrillers. I haven't read any of the other books in the series as other readers have, so I'm not familiar about the characters, story lines, etc.

    There were things mentioned in the story that I just didn't get...J.D. Robb kept using the terms "links" as I suspected the equivalent of a cell phone. Why didn't she just used normal terminologies? Did I miss something? After all, the story took place in NYC in modern days, right? How the heck was I supposed to know that "links" were?

    Also, I wasn't impressed with the narration either. Rourke's Irish brogue made my ears twinged.

    I'm only a 1/4 way through the story, but I don't know if I can finish it! Very disappointing.
