The story is interesting enough in a "coming of age" kind of way, but the supercilious tones of the narrator make it a dreadful listen.
Your son is on trial for murdering a classmate. As the trial unfolds, little niggling doubts creep in about his innocence. Nothing solid, just disturbingly suggestive. What would you do? That's the story this book poses. Highly recommended.
I loved Frazier's use of language, and Patton's narration was pitch perfect. Even though I thought I knew what was going to happen - and I was wrong - they kept me on the edge of my seat.
