In 2009, Susannah Cahalan woke up in a strange hospital room strapped to a bed, under guard, and unable to move or speak. Her medical records - from a month-long hospital stay of which she had no memory - reported psychosis, violence, and dangerous instability. Yet, only weeks earlier she had been a healthy, ambitious twenty-four-year-old, six months into her first serious relationship and a sparkling career as a cub reporter

The ever after, the demonic realm that parallels our own, is shrinking, and if it disappears, so does all magic. It’s up to witch-turned-daywalking-demon Rachel Morgan to fix the ever-after before the fragile balance between magic users and humans fails. Of course, there’s also the small fact that she caused the ley line to rip in the first place, and her life is forfeit unless she can fix it.

    Story

The story was disconnected and rambling. It would go chapters about seemingly unimportant subjects. When it did come back to the original story line, it was confusing and vague. The characters talked over each other and it became irritating and confusing. I felt this was one instance were the written book might have been more enjoyable. The voices of the different characters were distracting, and seemed to be at odds with each other.

A Signature Performance: Elijah Wood becomes the first narrator to bring a youthful voice and energy to the story, perhaps making it the closest interpretation to Twain’s original intent.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

She was Great. She brings a whole new level of enjoyment to audio books.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it is way to long to try it.

    Any additional comments?

Tried to listen to whole series. I think it would take months. Hard to find that much free time
