Harry Crewe, the Homelander orphan girl, is pleased with her new home. Life in Istan is certainly easy, but a voice in her ear whispers that the home of her heart is among the Hillfolk, among the descendants of Lady Aerin, who once wielded Gonturan, the Blue Sword.

This has been a favorite young adult novel for over 20 years! I'm so happy to have it on my iPod now! Yay me!! The story is still excellent and satisfies many levels of story telling - who doesn't like war horses, swords and kings, challenges, magic and legends. If you love grounded fantasy and horses and magic swords then this will be a sure win. The narrator has a nice voice, pleasant to the ear.

    Enjoy.

Number-one New York Times best-selling author Charlaine Harris has won numerous awards for her Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire series, which has been adapted into the hit HBO show True Blood. In this 13th and final book, a murder rocks the town of Bon Temps and Sookie is arrested for the crime. After making bail, she sets out to clear her name - but her investigation only leads to more deaths.

Yes, I have enjoyed all the books and maybe they didn't always go in the direction I would have thought the best, but they have kept me engaged and entertained which is the reason I read them. I never really watched the TV show, so all the violence and author bashing seems really strange to me and quite sad really. I was satisfied with the ending, but I have never been rabid about Sookie's men, just enjoyed the stories for what they were. The narrator was awesome as always, I'm only sad this is the last of the series.

For more than 300 years, Bluff House has sat above Whiskey Beach, guarding its shore - and its secrets. But to Eli Landon, it’s home.… A Boston lawyer, Eli has weathered an intense year of public scrutiny and police investigations after being accused of - but never arrested for - the murder of his soon-to-be-ex wife. He finds sanctuary at Bluff House, even though his beloved grandmother is in Boston recuperating from a nasty fall. Abra Walsh is always there, though.

It is Nora Roberts. The story line is pretty much from formula. I did enjoy the protagonists - they were atypical. Our hero was not macho alpha and our heroine was more running the show. But it was written with nice balance and I loved Barbie (the dog). Was it a fantastic best ever? No. Did it absolutely stink? No. It was not my absolute favorite NR, but far from my least fav. I like male narrators and so I did enjoy the reading of this book. The main story line is from the male point of view. It was a good read/listen to be entertained but not rocking ones whole world. Select with care but no fear.

Leila's psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn't sure what the future holds. If that weren't enough, her lover, Vlad, has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she's also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold-shoulder treatment forever - especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won't admit that he loves her.... Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes.

Looking at the ratings, I guess I'm swimming against the tide. I do love the author and I love the characters but this particular plot seemed to be pieced together and didn't arch or flow well for me. It seemed confusing, redundant in places and obviously predictable in others. In other words a wee bit frustrating. It just seemed to miss something as it rushed thru getting us to the next book. I didn't think it was a total fail, but just not the best I've read from this author. I do want to read the next book, and am hoping it will be worth the wait.

I like the narrator, but I do wonder if all the panting and gasping really necessary during the love scenes? Over the top dramatic bodice ripping not really needed - LOL!

It's an enjoyable read, but I'm looking forward to better Vlad and Leila in the future.

I have loved the Mercy Thompson series from the beginning and can't decide which I enjoy more - Mercy and Adam or Charles and Anna better. This installment of Mercy's story is fast, heart warming, exciting and sometimes even funny. I enjoy how Mercy is developing and not always in the land of angst as she was at the beginning. People should never underestimate the cunning of the coyote! I can't wait for the next one.

Serious love for the Walker series - the stories and adventures. The main character and the all the side character's. Who doesn't adore Gary and Morrison? This story does after all have more Morrison in it - fan girl SQUEE here! About time. It was exciting and sweet at times. It was also really awesome to have Joanne growing along with her story and resolving some issues and having other Ah-hah moments too. Though a huge fan of the series, I thought this one was a stand out and am sad to think the next book is the last in the series. *sob* The narration was as excellent as always.

Say Audible - we do need to have Gary's story, No Dominion, also added to our audiobook collection. Though we need another narrator for his story, Someone with some age to his voice, but can also impart vitality and joy for life.

If you haven't read the series yet - you are so missing out - start the adventure with Urban Shaman and rock it. So worth it.

After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. This short story take place just prior to Cry Wolf and I think is so important to the story line. I'm so thrilled that this is now collected and in place in my iPod playlist and narrated by (**big sigh**) Holter Graham. The story and narration are excellent. It doesn't matter that it's not long - you only wish it was longer - but wait it is - it just slides right into Cry Wolf after all. If you are a fan of Patty Briggs and love the off shoot of the Mercy Thompson series about Anna and Charles, this is a MUST buy.

So happy for The Hobbit to be on to be on audible unabridged. Abridged versions of books are just so wrong it's a crime. The narrator is wonderful. He is very able to carry this story and separate the voices. His tone and the depth of his voice, it's a pleasure to listen to. The story is after all the Hobbit. It's wonderful and fantastical and an adventure that everyone must take at least once in their lives.

Set against the colorful and magical backdrop of Ireland, The Grey Horse chronicles a time when the Irish people suffered under harsh English overlords who sought to destroy their culture and way of life. Into the Irish town of Carraroe, a magnificent, completely grey stallion appears. The horse brings with him the promise of better times and magical happenings, for he is actually the shape-shifted form of Ruairi MacEibhir, journeyed to a time of danger in order to win the hand of the woman he loves.

    Story

I have always loved horses, but there are not many authors that write horses well. They turn the horses into four legged people and lose the qualities that make the horse what they are. MacAvoy embraces all that is horse then interweaves her story through it. The characters are dimensional without being weighty; you meet them and know them and have a great time. It's like sitting down to lunch with a best friend - you just enjoy yourself and laugh and don't worry about who is saying what. When it's time to leave you are both in a wonder about where the time flew. This is what her books are like - you immediately immerse into her world and she totally makes it work! You don't even have to be a serious horse lover to enjoy this book, you will get it. But for those horse folks out there - you have to read this book and see what you have been missing! Rory totally rocks the pooka (horse fairy). The narrator did a great job too. I'm happy to see her other books being posted as well. Audible - you are awesome!
