Victorian romance mixes seamlessly with elegant prose and biting wit—and werewolves—in Gail Carriger’s delightful debut novel. Soulless introduces Alexia Tarabotti, a parasol-wielding Londoner getting dangerously close to spinster status. But there are more important things than finding a husband. For Alexia was born without a soul, giving her the ability to render any vampire or werewolf completely powerless.

    "Fun Book!"
    Overall

I truly enjoyed this book. I think I really like these Victorian fantasies/ Steampunk. I guess I don’t know that I’ve read steampunk before but if this is what it is I’m all for it.

I loved Alexia she is strong, independent, feisty, a great character and I look forward to more of her. She is a preternatural which means she was born without a soul but that doesn’t mean she has no feelings what it does mean is she has some control over the supernatural beings. I liked the whole hierarchy of the wolves and vampires and Queen Victoria of England. The romance part of this book was so fun because of the era this is set in it made it all the better.

I don’t know what else to say about this book other than if you like werewolves, vampires or Victorian era fantasy read this book! You’ll be glad you did!

Emily Gray does a great job at the narration and really makes this book come to life!

A Signature Performance: Tim Curry rescues Charles Dickens from the jaws of Disney with his one-of-a-kind performance of the treasured classic. Our listeners loved this version so much that it inspired our whole line of Signature Classics.

Because everyone knows this story whether from reading it or seeing one of the 100's of movies based on this book I will just be reviewing the audiobook version I listened to narrated by, Tim Curry. I must admit to being a huge Tim Curry fan I will watch anything if he has a role in it so when I found this audiobook at audible I had to get it. I was not disappointed!

Tim Curry’s narration is absolute perfection ‘nuff said!
