I might be a little impatient and I did start flicking through chapters at the end, I would recommend listening to the book but only the first 5 min of last 14 points. I have to say I did take away a few really good points and questions on process, and what I though some solid arguments for the points being raised. The book was detracted from however in the second half as the view for the justifications started to get less factual and more "evangelical" in my view.
All in all I think a 4 star book if you do the "Abridged" version by listening to the first few chapters in full and then just the opening, as the reasoning becomes repetitive and the points less relevant.
I listened to this and then "The Age of Turbulence" gave an interesting view into some of the comments.
There were some great points raised that I think sparked the thought process and will continue to float in the back of my mind, especially when the discussion of "free markets", "wage control" etc arise.
What a great story, very well done and very interesting storyline..
Not many maybe "Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss. In terms of story line and detail.
Can't wait for book 2 a great fantasy book, and does not go too low brow targeting kids only. I loved this and I think any teenager into fantasy/Scify will as well
Sadly the quality of each book gets lower, the 4th book is really a childs books with slap stick and easy story line. The main characters are frustrating and stupid now.
Book 1 was great and every book gets worse, the last books is really for kids.
great reading just poor story line
All of them
Yes if on special, Book 1 was a great and total story .. Book 2 is an attempt to milk money from the series it is not a whole story it is really half a book only.
have it as a self contained story
story was good but a lot more predicable
Exciting, detailed, cleaver !
A great book ! really good listen. Cleaver story can't wait for part 2
Yes -- this was a really funny story told by a funny person and interestingly enough I even think some nice little life lessons thrown in. It was great and I will have it on the iPod/Pad/thingy to listen to again on another long trip
Too many to name
No he was new to me but now I will seek him out.
I have no issues with the narrators, but the book is lame. I would struggle to do another book from this group
It really was not funny.. just a lot of swearing to make up for a lack of humour
I looked at the previous reviews and to honest I am starting to wonder if they are actual real reviews by independent people... The audio book is really just what you would expect to hear from 3 blokes at the bar after a few beers and lots and swearing .... I want to make it clear I am no prude, I have no issues at all with swearing and you will see I have done multiple reviews. The issue I have in this case is that I think the only thing that is funny is the occasional swear word.
I really do think you should check if the previous reviews are valid.
If they were honest and said it was "part 1" of a story in which they have not released part 2
yes. I liked the start of the story but feel ripped off
Do not but until you know when the story actually ends, it was "average" to start and then built up, and just as it got interesting it stopped. I feel a complete waste and I was mislead, it is not even half a story
Not the whole book but maybe parts, however I am more a listen once kind of person
This is one of the epic tales like Jack Welsh "Straight from the Gut" and Who says elephants can't dance Louis Gerstner -- together with a great Biography that is well researched, to me it is one of the most interesting blended Biographies with the history of Apple and Pixar (but that was his life as well)
I really was not a fan of Steve Jobs nor Apple, always thought he was a tyrant and apple a corporate beast ,, that pretended to be nice but always ruthless and not philanthropic and just hoodwinked people. I have to say after the biography it made me take a different view on things in some ways but in other let me understand why I had that view... The book does not pull any punches and I left with the feelings Steve Jobs was one of the biggest a-holes (quote from the book) but also an amazing person that did amazing things.
Yes, depends on your humour but this is good old clean funny. I highly recommend getting a few seasons and if you like the first few episodes .. This season is not as good as the rest, still good but nowhere near as good as the others. There is a feeling of more repetition .
Yes, depends on your humour but this is good old clean funny. I highly recommend getting a few seasons and if you like the first few episodes .. if you like them get all the series as with the exception of season 7 they are all excellent, season 7 good just not quite the same and a little more repetition .
