"Disappointing"
Night Soldiers was entertaining. This book seemed to go on and on. It did not hold my attention and I had to hit the back button on several occasions. I began well but became tedious.
"Absolutely wonderful"
I have always enjoyed Mr. Cornwell's books. I went through the Sharpe's series and wanted to tell him"more". I read all of those and was thoroughly pleased. I have some series I read and some on audible. I don't know why I purchased Agincourt and 1356 on audible but I couldn't be more pleased. Having a teen who thinks the most mundane is " awesome" I hesitate to use superlatives. The narrator made a wonderful story wonderous. If you enjoy Cornwell and historical fiction then this is well worth the listen.
"Outstanding"
What a marvelous book. The story is wonderful, this history is interesting, with a performance to match.
"Very Good"
This is not my usual genre. I tend to stick to thrillers. However this was compelling, interesting, and informative. The writing holds the attention and the performance is top notch. This was worth straying from fiction.
"Gotta Love Virgil"
The Prey series got me hooked on Sandford and Virgil Flowers is even better. I went through the the first three books of the series one after another.
"Loved it."
I so enjoyed this "listen" that I followed each book in the series immediate with the next. I took drove circuitous routes just to continue the stories.
"Getting better"
I ended up with the first three books in this series because of a sale. I panned the first because of the presence of an annoying little girl tagging along with the protagonist. The child is becoming less of a presence other than the reason for his undertaking the missions to get money to support her. The less she's a presence the better the story. I don't know if I'll purchase the next one.
"Annoying child"
The protagonist has a seven or 8 year old girl with him during most of the book. The whinny kid detracted from the story. Nothing against the performer. He did a good job.
Well these were on sale and I bought several. I will try another but if the kid is still there I may just have to rack this up to caveat emptor.
Wish I hadn't bought more books in the series during the sale.
"Not up to standard"
I am a fan of the Sean Dillon series. This book was disappointing. The dialogue was so full of cliches that I often found myself saying the next line with the narrator. The plot was predictable and overall this was a disappointment. I will however get the next book in the series and hope for a return to form.
Yes.
Probably will have to if he performs other books in the Dillon series.
Disappointment
"Excellent"
I love this series and if you do too then you won't be disappointed. If you are new to the series I wouldn't start with this as a knowledge of the characters previous interplay is necessary for a full appreciation. As soon as I finished I came back to download the next in the series and it's not offered. What is up with that?
