"If you like knights, rangers and adventure"
If you like knights, rangers and adventure this book is for you. Sword fights, archery and chasing villians across the country side, it is all here.
I love the character dynamics in this book and the whole series. The relationship between Will, Halt's apprentice and Halt and Will's best friend Horace a knight, is something that I enjoy reading about again and again.
It is great fun following their adventures from country to country in a world that is very like our own in medevil times.
"Magnificent finally to a great series."
I really loved this series and Brandon Sanderson did a great job bringing it to a breath taking conclusion. When Robert Jordon passed away, I was so sad because having come so far with these great characters I wanted to reach the end. If you feel like I did that Tolkein's Lord of the rings was too short Robert Jordan gives you an Epic to keep you entertained for months. It has kept me entertained for the years I have waited for this finally. He has created a facinating world with many varied cultures and customs. The adventure moves across continents and worlds as teenagers from a country village are swept up in the titanic strugle between good and evil with the survival of the world in the balance. There is magic and mind control, plots and conspiracies, luck and madness, with danger lurking around every corner. Lost knowledge is rediscovered but is it enough and is it in time to save the world. This is a saga that you just can't aford to miss. Check out volume 1, The Eye of the world and see if you can put it down!
"Best book of 2012"
This was the best book that I heard in 2013. It had the excitement of any thriller and it was the story of a real person told by the one who lived it. The Narrator Ray porter did an excelent job of brining it to life. I felt like I was there with him on the run as he tried to out think all the agents that came after him.
"It is only a piece of a book"
The story was quite enjoyable until it suddenly dropped off in the middle of things. I had no idea it was part of a series from the name. I thought that it was a short story but no it is only a piece of one. A good stroy has a rythm and if it is part of a serial, some resolution at the end with room for expansion. This was the most graceless cut off I have run into. I thought that maybe I had missed downloading a part but no. It pissed me off to the point where I am done. I see parts 2 and three are even shorter. It should really be one story.
"Claudia Black made Meridith come to life."
I was totally suprised to hear Cludia Black's voice since she did not do any of the other books. She just brought Meridith to life. There was a whole different feeling to the book it was dramatic and there was a belivability that she brought that was so different from the toung in cheek suspend your disbelief of the rest of the books. I just loved it and wished I could have heard her read the rest of them.
"This is a fun romp through Fairy"
Take yourself on a trip to an alternate america where all the hosts of fairy immegrated here and co-exist with humans. The Princess makes her living as a detective so that she won't be beholden to the un-seeley court for her living. Princess Meridith with her harem of Guards is in LA protecting an ex-goddess from the rath of the head of the Seely court because of a secret.
Laural Merlington does an excelent job in giving different voices to all the charaters and pulling you into the story.
"I have been recommending it to all my friends."
This is the 4th book in a great light hearted series. This is the first book in which we hear through the voice of the fairy prince who wants to become human so that he can be with the girl he fell in love with. The story begins at the hut of Babba Yaga and takes you through to the end of the fairy world with many adventures. The interaction between Ash and Puck and the cat siddhe Grimalkin is as entertaining as usual. Megan is only an incidental character in this book.
"Amazingly defined world"
Brandon Sanderson creates a detailed world with laws and rules and mechanics. He is a facinating story teller and I am looking forward to his future works. Mysterys suck you in and all is slowly reveled. Lots of twists and turns.
"One of her best yet!"
If you like Chritine Feehan's dark series this one tells what happended to Dominic after he took on the paracites. It takes you to to the South American jungles. I don't want to spoil it but it was a lot of fun.
"Totally great read"
Set in the future, dealing with cloning and the creation of designer human beings this murder mystery was one of the best books that I have listened to this year. I could not stop listening. I hope that more books by this author will become availible!
