A chance meeting in Rio takes Maria to Geneva, where she dreams of finding fame and fortune, yet ends up working the streets as a prostitute. In Geneva, Maria drifts further and further away from love while at the same time developing a fascination with sex. Eventually, Maria's despairing view of love is put to the test when she meets a handsome young painter. In this odyssey of self-discovery, Maria has to choose between pursuing a path of darkness or risking everything to find her own 'inner light'.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I didn't really think it was all that great of a story. I loved his other stories, but this one, i got bored with, I couldn't wait for it to be over.

What could Paulo Coelho have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Not have wrote it.

Would you be willing to try another one of Emilia Fox and Derek Jacoby ’s performances?

    hopefully not.

Was Eleven Minutes worth the listening time?

At first it was, then it seemed to be drawn out with sexual fantasies and sexual awareness, blah blah, pleasure vs pain kinda thing, I just got bored.

With the closing of the Harlan County, Kentucky coalmines, marijuana has become the biggest cash crop in the state. A hundred pounds of it can gross three-hundred thousand dollars, but that’s chump change compared to the quarter million a human body can get you - especially when it’s sold off piece-by-piece. So when Dickie and Coover Crowe, dope-dealing brothers known for sampling their own supply, decide to branch out into the body business, it’s up to U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens to stop them.

Where does Raylan rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Up at the top. I am a fan of the TV show Justified, which is based off of Elmore Leonard's characters. in a previous book. The narrator is what made it a perfect match to the mountain folk Elmore was writing about.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked them all for different reasons, one wa because they were so stupid, or so evil, or just believable. Each one had a richness that made the story a great read.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I liked the beginning with the kidney stealing scam.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I was sad when it was over, wished it kept going. I'll have to wait for the next season of Justified to continue following the characters.

His books routinely top the bestseller lists in northern Europe, and he's won just about every Nordic crime-writing award, including the prestigious Glass Key Award-also won by Henning Mankell, Stieg Larsson, and Jo Nesbo. Now, Dutton is thrilled to introduce him to America.

Would you try another book from Jussi Adler-Olsen and/or Erik Davies?

Probably not. Erik Davies Dutch accent was just horrible! He made them sound like they were mentally challenged. I did like the story very much, but there were times when I was into what was happening and would all of a sudden get lost in some other minute detail about something else, taking me away from the excitement of the story, then took for ever to get back on track. It just seemed a bit all over the place for me. Two cases going on at once? It was a bit confusing. The narration like I stated before did not help at all.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Mareda, the women who one of the main characters, she was a good character. I also liked the assistant in department q. He gave the story some humor and depth.

Would you be willing to try another one of Erik Davies’s performances?

Only if it was his actual voice, he has a great voice but the accents he tried to do in this book were excruciating. They were horrible, made it hard to enjoy the story.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

I would rent it for a dollar, if I wanted something easy and predictable to watch. The whole movie budget would be used for the big finale at the end, that you had been waiting for the entire time.

    Any additional comments?

Get some other person to do the narration who can do an accent better.
