"Worth a read - startup or not!"
This is a practical guide to growing a business through innovation. Lots in the book can be actioned in your business regardless of if it is a start up or not. It was more applicable to my business than I expected. I found parts of the book a little redundant and preachy.
Launch Pad - Y Combinator. Some similar principles but this is a more practical guide especially for those not in a new tech start-up.
Yes. I have already recommended it to others.
"Really enjoyed this book..."
How candid and open Chris was in his recounting of the stories.
No easy day. Similar content and context.
Good narrative and flow.
God. Country. Family.
"A good follow-up read to Born to Run"
The focus on nutrition and how it can play such a role in an athlete's life. The candour with which the story is told.
Scott - hard to pick anyone else given it is essentially a Bio.
Yes, if it was a book I was interested in.
It did keep me engaged and wanting to hear more. Tough as I had just come off Born To Run which I believe it my favourite audiobook to date.
Read Born to Run then read this...
"Outstanding! A must listen for anyone!"
This is my favourite audio book thus far. It is GREAT!
Great story, great characters, engaging and inspiring as well as informative. Loved it!
Well delivered. Kept me engaged and kept the story moving.
Yes. I will also likely listed to it again.
I have recommended this to a number of people. It really deserves the incredible praise it has received. I had VERY high expectations and the book exceeded them.
"Some good info but a long walk for a short drink.."
the use of analogies and stories to make the point was helpful but overall I found the book a little repetitive and uninspiring.
I have not.
I thought the narration was fine. Not particularly engaging or inspiring but quite functional.
People with very limited presentation or story telling skills.
"Very enjoyable and insightful."
This was a great book. I really enjoyed it. I am biased as a big fan of Apple and also President of an advertising agency. I do however think the principles of simplicity are well articulated by Ken and they can be applied to any business. The story also moves along well and is very engaging.
When Ken decides to bring forward a colleagues idea which he knows is weak (to be nice) and it puts him in the difficult position of defending it when he does not believe in it.
The repeated efforts to keep the name iMac.
No. It did make me want to apply the principles in the book to my business.
"Great insight into Y Combinator"
Likely not, but I have recommended it to others.
The whole process from selection to the launch of products on demo day was incredible enjoyable to me. It was exciting to get an inside look into Y Combinator.
Over-dramatic, Pitchy, Grating
Yes.
"An interesting story from a first hand perspective"
I would. It is very enjoyable and provides some insight into what happened that day. The author has a good balance between the facts/details and keeping the story moving and engaging.
The lead up to the assault on the compound.
Well spoken and well paced. A great read.
A day just like and just unlike any other.
"A great and inspiring read!"
Inspirational, motivating and insightful.
I liked the backstory behind the development of some of the most powerful aspects of Google's business (some intentional some by coincidence).
The development and evolution of the search algorithm.
The only extreme reaction would be the degree to which it inspired me to think differently about how I approach problems in my business.
Well worth the listen for anyone fascinated by Google, technology or business growth and culture.
