Are history books giving us the whole story? Or is civilization far more complex and for older than we have been taught? Our school textbooks barely mention the 6,000-year-old Sumerian civilization, yet the latest archaeological findings at sites such as Jericho, and most recently, Gobekli Tepe in Turkey, have been dated to 10,000 BC. Civilization goes back at least another 10,000 years, if we are willing to believe what our ancestors themselves claimed.

Taken together with The Ancient Alien Question, these two books have information I haven't come across in any other searches or reference materials regarding this subject. As well, this book is well thought out and has references.

Forty years after the publication of Erich von Däniken's Chariots of the Gods, Philip Coppens revisits the question of whether "ancient aliens" contributed to the birth of human civilization.

I thought I'd read or listened to almost all available info on this subject; however, this book had new information I wasn't aware of and it is well thought out with references.

An entertaining illumination of the stupid beliefs that make us feel wise. You believe you are a rational, logical being who sees the world as it really is, but journalist David McRaney is here to tell you that you're as deluded as the rest of us. But that's OK - delusions keep us sane. You Are Not So Smart is a celebration of self-delusion. It's like a psychology class, with all the boring parts taken out, and with no homework. Based on the popular blog of the same name, You Are Not So Smart collects more than 46 of the lies we tell ourselves everyday.

While I enjoyed the book, it did not really give me any new information. I voraciously read science mags and most of these "not so smart" researches and studies have been previously published. HOWEVER, the book is good and does have everything in one place. So for those interested in one stop shopping - this is the book for you!
