Loved it as well as Georgette Heyer stories. Clean, free of profanity or immorality. All the characters are delightful, except the ones we are meant to dislike and they are not "dark" characters, just characters you love to hate. Very satisfying wrapping of of details. Narrator was perfect- will listen to this many times again.
Grew quite attached to the brother character. Was a little disappointed with the ending - not as happily-ever-after as I like, but acceptable. Character flaws seemed a out weigh the context of the book - but the writing was good and I got used to the narrator. It was a one-time read, enjoyable, worth the $4.95 sale price.
on and on, dry and monotone - had to quit listening - had the feeling he missed something with all his fact finding
Different, out of the box characters, no bad language, uplifting, not preachy. Will listen to this one again.
I think this is my favorite Louis L'Amour book. Will listed to this more than once. No profanity - like that a lot.
I quit listening to the book after the sexual abuse scene - not entertaining...just gross.
Totally enjoyed everything about this book - story, characters, plot development...will listen to this more than once. No profanity- really liked that. Thought I wasn't going to like the narrator at first, but got used to him and soon forgot about him because the book was so good.
Didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did. Loved the whole idea of getting a make-over and the author makes you love Kate with her quirky sense of humor. Will listen to this one more than once.
Disgusted by the never-ending profanity, homosexuality, promotion of teen promiscuity, pushing of evolution and anti-Christian rhetoric. Could have skipped the first half of the book because of all the garbage the author was spewing. He should have spent more time on the plot instead of propaganda. Had a very weak ending. Will not even listen to the next book even though I already purchased it.
Disliked the spewing forth of profanity, homosexuality, evolution and anti-Christian sentiments. Would have been a great story without all the garbage.
