I have not read the print version.
I LOVED Iyanla's narration, which is full of liveliness and passion. You can hear who she really is and all the emotions she went through. This makes the audiobook SO special!!! I have tried to listen to many other books only to be disappointed by the boring, robotic narrators. This was done by Iyanla herself and it made it so enjoyable to listen to.
I absolutely HATE when good books are ruined in audio version because of boring, snoring, robotic, unhuman sounding narrators. This book definitely is one I did not want to end!!! Iyanla's voice is hypnotic, full of character and charisma. Not a disappointment!
... And still gain new insight every time! I love this book! This gives me new insight and clarity that I have not gained before.
At the top of my list, although FYI it is rather short. I wish it wasn't abridged.
I have had many
EVERYTHING. And it's worked wonders.
I first read this book in the paperback version, then bought the audiobook during a sale.
I LOVE LAURA DOYLE's narration!!!! I wish all narrators could sound as interesting as she is! It was so easy to listen to and understand, because she speaks as if she's standing right in front of you, engaging in a conversation with you!
5 stars for performance! I love when listening to an audiobook is captivating and this definitely was!
I enjoyed Stephen Covey's theories and techniques on living a great life. However, I found it tough to listen to him and keep up with all the ideas because they are at times complex.
I believe this book to be much more enjoyable in text, where you can go back and re-read sections you need to understand more and use them as a reference. It is very difficult to refer back to a specific section when you're listening.
Mr. Covey's narration was nice, but could have been a bit more interesting or passionate. His ideas are amazing, so I wish the narration would've matched that. It's very hard to listen to words that feel
No. Sometimes it inspired me to turn it off because it became a little to monotonous for audio listening.
Second to Iyanla Vanzant's Peace from Broken Pieces.
I LOVE Martha Beck, she is witty and funny! I DISLIKED THE BORING NARRATOR who spoke the headlines of each section of the book. I would scream out
I enjoy Martha's take on life, and the way she presents the material. She makes it understandable and interesting to listen to, which relatable examples for everything she talks about. I've been reading her articles on Oprah's site for a while now and am so happy to have listened to this book.
I would recommend it to anyone who wants to live their best life!
