"Pride and Prejudice"
Very good reading! I like the different voices done by Ms. Fox, I have never read Pride and Prejudice because of the difficult English wording but in hearing it read, it was much easier listening.
"A excellent read!"
Having grown up with Kubrick's Shining I was interested in how the book would be. Now I see why Stephen King wasn't happy with the film. I found that it showed Jack Torrance as a loving caring father, missing from Kubricks adaptation. Wendy's strength is shown and Danny's love for his parents. It was great, thats all I can say. Read it, you won't be sorry!
"Wonderful"
I love Frank Muller, I will miss him no longer being the voice if Stephen King.
"Cathy's Vengence"
When I first read this book (like most people) I was in the 8th grarde and it was a very powerful influence in my life. I learned how to use my sexuality to my advantage. So when I saw the book on audio I thought I would give it a try. The narrator did a fine job, but what I found that what I thought was so good in the 8th grade, just seemed a little silly now that I am an adult woman. It still affected me the same way as far as the storyline but what I now couldn't now comprehend is how Corrine could do what she did, but once again it is a story of fiction. I didn't like they way Chris and Cathy could now live as husband and wife in the end and I don't like the way Chris and Cathy couldnt get past this part of their lives. I did like the fact that Cathy did get vengence against her mother. I did like the fact that I could now google V.C. Andrews and find out how she got the idea for her series. Unfortunatly they didn't finish the series on audio!!!! So here I go to the thrift stores to find If There Be Thorns book.
I hope that they will get the rest of the series on audio.

It was a pleasant walk down memory lane with the Dollengangers.
"Geisha"
I loved the book but the narrator fell a little short. She didn't sound Japanese, and she was a bit of a drone on her voice. But I stayed with it because my love of the story.
"The Wonderful World of Oz"
I had never read the books but only saw the movie. Both myself and my six year old daughter. At first she didn't care for it because it didn't follow the movie, but then I explained how the book is the "real" story and the movie is the "Hollywood version" of it. She then listened with new ears and loved the true story and cannot wait for the next books and the new adventures!
"Awsome Book...Amazing Narrator"
I have to admit that although I have been a King fan for many years (30+) and I have never read Christine! It came out in the theatre and I saw it there but never really was impressed. But this summer I decided to finally sit down and have a listen, and boy was I surprised! The book was fresh and unmarred by time! I listened to it at least an hour a day and I was so sad when it finally ended! :( Holter Graham did a wonderful job and I hope to hear more of him. Next will be Carrie, narrated by Sissy Spacek, which I haven't read either but did here an interesting interview with Mr. King about his idea for the story.
"Wondered why it was so short!"
I love beverly lewis books. I didn't realize that I was purchasing an abridged book and not the original book. No wonder it was only 8.00. And the woman reading the book sounded like an older russian lady instead of a young Amish girl. I see that she wasn't used again in other Beverly Lewis books, thank goodness!
No way!
She sounded too old and Not Amish, but Russian
