After firewalking in Polynesia, fundamentalist minister Alexander Hergensheimer never saw the world the same. Now called Alec Graham, he was in the middle of an affair with his stewardess, Margrethe, and natural disasters kept following them. First, there was an impossible iceberg that wrecked the ship in the tropics; then, after being rescued by a Royal Mexican plane, they were hit by a double earthquake. To Alex, the signs were clear that Armageddon and the Day of Judgment were near.

One survivor, strangely immune to the effects of the epidemic, ventures forward to experience a world without man. What he ultimately discovers will prove far more astonishing than anything he'd either dreaded or hoped for.

I read this book more than 30 years ago...
and it is Still one of the greatest books I ever read.
    Way ahead of its time...
It makes you think... and will make you think about it for ALONG time.

Clearly the inspiration for THE STAND and Many Many Other books...

The audio Presentation of this Classic is Very Fine.

even if a couple of the words were Strangely pronounced....
    (like "coupe") lol

I feel like this was one of the best buys on this site.

I Just may listen to it again right away.

the book is some times called "the saddest book"... but I do not see it that way.

Written in his early 60s, Tesla looks back on the events that shaped his life as the inventor of our modern world. Like many exceptional artists, scientists, and engineers, Tesla's senses and intellect worked on a higher level, which often afflicted him physically. Yet, he overcame, and used his special abilities and strong educational background to make electricity the servant of man.

    Peter says: "Very interesting"

this is a great listen it is easy to believe you are listening to his voice.

some of it was over my head...
but I loved how he talked about the Unique way is mind worked ..
    and his personal history.
I think he wanted to give us the web way back then...
I wish he had talked more about the challenges of Capitalism's deathgrip over his Ideas.

very enjoyable... I will listen to it again.
