What made the experience of listening to Magic Tree House Collection: Books 1-8 the most enjoyable?

After personally exporting, manually saving every chapter and then resaving broken out by book then burning each story on disc to play for the kids then it was great. The terrible formatting was a huge pain and was the deciding point Not to purchase th next 2 volumes.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    The kids like it all

What didn’t you like about Mary Pope Osborne’s performance?

    Nothing. She was good

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No! No 5 and 7 year old is going to digest 5 hours of stories

    Any additional comments?

Please fix formatting! I'm tech savy but the 3 hours it took to make it workable was extremely frustrating

This extraordinary, magical novel is the story of Clare, a beautiful art student, and Henry, a librarian, who have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36, and were married when Clare was 22 and Henry 30. Impossible but true, because Henry has Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity in his past, present, and future.

I've had 22 audible books this year, and this was one of the best. Depsite any negative reviews, if you like to consider genetic predeterminism, free will, relationships and your place in the world in time, then you will love this book. I enjoyed every minute of this very long story with excellent narration. There are so many musical and literarary references you could spend your time daydreaming of being a librarian or music collector and still not have time to appreciate all the excellent recommendations and references made by the author through the characters.

I agree there is a somewhat slow start which takes a bit of concentration to understand but once the story gets going (after only about 20-30 minutes of the 17 hours), you will find yourself waiting like Claire to find out what is going to happen next. There are several thoughful interjections for your pondering into the story line, like determinism vs free will, Da Sein, your place in the world as defined by your being human vs being a person in an era.

I give this story and book the highest rating and very much connected to the characters and I think you will find the same experience if you choose to go ahead and try it.

Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense pro who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, to defend clients at the bottom of the legal food chain. It's no wonder that he is despised by cops, prosecutors, and even some of his own clients. But an investigator is murdered for getting too close to the truth and Haller quickly discovers that his search for innocence has taken him face to face with a kind of evil as pure as a flame.

"A great book for the road"
    Overall

This title was my 7th audiobook, and in my opinion the best so far. The storyline is strong without a lot of unnecessary detail or tangents, which are often harder to follow in audio format. The narration is good, clear, and easy to listen to. I listen on 3 hours trips out of state, this really made the last two trips fly by. I couldn't wait to hear the rest of the story each time I reluctantly went back to work. The other reviews are correct, a great buy.
