"The child's ear"
I'm an adult and I love music, though I can't say I have an "educated ear". Thus my desire to do some music history! As I was looking through the more sophisticated books on the topic, I read a review of someone saying she had preferred this one because the music samples were longer. I'm glad I took her advice. I learned a lot, had fun and listened to some beautiful music and I'm not embarrassed to say that the "child" approach was perfect for me!
"When the author reads"
What more could you ask for? You close your eyes and you have the author right there with you sharing his work of art! I listened to this book on my ipod as I commuted and it was extremely enjoyable because Gladwell's insights are broken down into anecdotes, making it a wonderful combination of story and discovery time! I learned a lot. No problem listening by chapter and I especially liked the music used to increase interest and suspense. Great listening which I highy recommend!
I plan to download all of Gladwell's books.
