starts out slow and somewhat confusing; but once I figured out PD was introducing all of the potential suspects and the victim before the actual crime takes place...I was hooked. The reader is excellent; able to switch voices with ease and keep tempo quite well.
the second half of the book was much better than the first half (the part with Sherlock Holmes. I had trouble distinguishing the voices in the first half and following the story line, but others may not.
Obviously Masie..the central character because she was so "real"
the accents were excellent
The hidden crime
The story drags on and on and on with a pompous male telling the story.
It seems as if the tellers voice is "more important" than the story.
I just could not stand the English accent he used..he was so arrogant.
I will try to get my money back on this one.
this is the first audio book I have stopped listening to, ever! The accents are terrible and the story line is boring. do not purchase!
I agree with Kathy from Florida, Craig you need to write faster! the narrator is fabulous!. I can see this as a TV series. Keep up the great work!
way too much information! the narrator is "stuffy" and the story goes on for ever! I won't buy PD James again.
The best narration I have heard in 3 years of audiobooks. The humor is wonderful to me. I don't think there's much "mystery" in the story, but I did not mind.
I really liked this story. It is well read and the plot keeps you interested. It might have been a tad long, but a great and different mystery (audio book).
not a bad book and the speaker is OK. Book maybe a tad too long, but....
the speaker voice is awful! His dialects are not too bad, but his British accent is just repulsive. the 1st chapter of this book is so boring - Creasey goes on and on and on about the main character (not the Detective, but the crook). Worse book of his I've heard
