  • Sleepwalk with Me: Live

    • ORIGINAL (1 hr and 10 mins)
    • By Mike Birbiglia

This album is a recording of Mike Birbiglia’s Off-Broadway play Sleepwalk With Me, a comic memoir of true life events revolving around his life-threatening sleep disorder. Birbiglia weaves a story as compelling as it is hysterical. It’s a story of heartbreak and denial, of incidents and escalating accidents that culminate with a death-defying leap. On the Sleepwalk With Me Live! album, Birbiglia invites listeners to take this leap with him.

Jaime T. says: "Hillarious and Fantastic story telling"
    "Just OK"
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed it even though it was a little disappointing. His other cds were better.

If you’ve listened to books by Mike Birbiglia before, how does this one compare?

This one was a little more personal and somewhat sentimental than his others. His others were funnier.

What three words best describe the narrator’s performance?

    good not great

Could you see Sleepwalk with Me being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

It could possibly be a tv show based on his life.

    Any additional comments?

I was a little let down with this one, but it was still an enjoyable listen.

  • An Echo in the Bone: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (45 hrs and 58 mins)
    • By Diana Gabaldon
    • Narrated By Davina Porter
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Jamie Fraser knows from his time-traveling wife Claire that, no matter how unlikely it seems, America will win the Revolutionary War. But that truth offers little solace, since Jamie realizes he might find himself pointing a weapon directly at his own son - a young officer in the British army. And Jamie isn't the only one with a tormented soul - for Claire may know who wins the conflict, but she certainly doesn't know whether or not her beloved Jamie survives.

Charles says: "Read all of Gabaldon's stuff before this one"
    "Loved it"

Every book is better than the last. Is it sad that I was rooting for rollo ALOT!! Love loved it!!!! Jamie is the man!

  • Robopocalypse: A Novel

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 43 mins)
    • By Daniel H. Wilson
    • Narrated By Mike Chamberlain
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In the near future, at a moment no one will notice, all the dazzling technology that runs our world will unite and turn against us. Taking on the persona of a shy human boy, a childlike but massively powerful artificial intelligence known as Archos comes online and assumes control over the global network of machines that regulate everything from transportation to utilities, defense and communication. In the months leading up to this, sporadic glitches are noticed by a handful of unconnected humans - a single mother, a lonely Japanese bachelor, and an isolated U.S. soldier....

Raxxillion says: "OMG! The hyperbole is the GREATEST EVER!!!!!"
    "Enjoyable listen, good book"
What made the experience of listening to Robopocalypse the most enjoyable?

    Very good narration and story

What other book might you compare Robopocalypse to and why?

I would compare it to I Robot.

What about Mike Chamberlain’s performance did you like?

Nice diverse and distinct characters. This seems like a tough book to perform and he did an excellent job

Who was the most memorable character of Robopocalypse and why?

Matilda kinda stays with you after finishing the book, although almost all the main characters are memorable.

    Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed this book. It jumps around a lot and it takes a while to find its narrative footing, but after a while its difficult to put down. It starts out a little slow and confusing, but really builds up and becomes engrossing. I'm glad I stuck with it. I did wish it flowed a bit better though. It was a little choppy.

  • The Prophet

    • ORIGINAL (47 mins)
    • By Lewis Black

This historic album from America’s foremost commentator on everything provides telling and hilarious insight into Black’s earlier years in standup, before "The Daily Show," before the Grammys, and before the massive fame. The Prophet CD was recorded in late 1990 while Lewis was on tour and exemplifies his acid-tongued wit, his prescience about what matters, and his hilarious takes on the politics of the times.

Amazon Customer says: "NOT NEW MATERIAL!"
What would have made The Prophet better?

It would have been better if it contained new material

Would you be willing to try another book from Lewis Black? Why or why not?

    Yes! I love Lewis Black.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Lewis Black is always funny, but this performance seemed old and stale

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I was really disappointed in the quality of the recording and the dated material

    Any additional comments?

I am a big Lewis Black fan so I was excited to get this recording(I have all his other cds). This album is just a cash grab. Its old stuff (Clinton and Bush jokes? Really?!) that has been rereleased and a lot of it sounds unpolished. The audio quality was very poor also.
