Narrator has a heavy accent - struggled to understand it. This was complicated by a discombobulated story line....ugh...
Not my idea of supernaturals - too lovey dovey for my taste. With all those fangs and powers....and no one is insane??? ugh
Not a bad twist. Enjoyed it. Not scary, but enjoyable. Makes you want to donate to PETA afterwards!
Loved the vampires...maybe not the monsters, but I get why they added it. Overall, good story - fast moving and engrossing. Not nail biting - but stays with you long after each listen.
Bought the series before I finished the first book - it was that good. I flew through them! Writing was fast paced, no blah-blah-blah moments at all!! I'm not usually a fan of "series" books, but this one made me understand how one can get hooked. Characters are believable, monsters are freaky and villans are lovable. Just perfect.
A bit predictable...but, not a bad story. I listen a lot while driving to and from work, so this book was a good listen; but I wasn't tempted to listen outside of my ride. Simply put, It was a good listen - but not good enough to keep me in the car!
Great story, loved the special effect voices... Really made it work. Haven't been hooked on a book since "The Strain"... I really missed that spine -tingling feeling!
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but pleasantly surprised. Not really a horror, more sci-fi – but a good read. Some characters were quite amusing, others were uneventful – but that’s how it’s supposed to be, I guess.
Sci-Fi fans would like this more that horror fans…not scary or nail-biting, but an interesting story.
I’m more of a horror fan rather than Sci-fi…but the story line sounded interesting. Honestly, it was a good futuristic view of the “what-ifs.” No heart-racing moments, but a good story.
Not bad, good story idea - but too unbelievable to be scary. To me, real scare starts with something that I can see happening and then makes me hesitate to turn off the lights…that’s the sweet spot. This book…..missed that.
But, it’s still an interesting story. The ending left me saying, “Hmmm.”
Won't look at Istanbul the same again! Blurred the lines of fantasy and reality so well that I'm not sure now if there "isn't" something demonic buried in any of those old religious structures...! so - yes, I enjoyed listening to every page.
