The book is more insightful than the movie Patton. Although I think Patton was a superior general and was condemned for things that Bradley and eisenhaurer did on a much larger scale. Ie putting their troops at incredible risks
Made these supreme generals out to be real people not above anything in human nature
If you like non fiction you will thoroughly enjoy this book. Should be required listening by our military officer corp.
I enjoyed this book thoroughly. I have listened to over 100 books over the years and this book takes place after WW1 which is was something new for me and the story moved right along. Is it the best book I have listened to no, but was it worth one of my credits absolutely.
Unless your Frank Rich the drama critic of the NYT looking to nitpick on small insignificant negatives. This is a great audiobook than any true Gabriel Alon fan will enjoy.
This is a saga of heroism by seemingly ordinary Americans. Bottom line is your worst day is not even close to a normal day that these brave soldiers faced day in and day out. Amazing depiction of bravery.
I found this book not living up to the reviews by others. It was a good listen but certainly not one that had you sit in the car or stay up late listening. Certainly not on the level of Vince Flynn or Daniel Silva. I would say one notch below.
It is an excellent listen that you can't put down. Shows exactly how our politicians in DC have no interest it what is really good for the American people. I am sure most of this is true. it is amazing that a person like Mitch Rapp would continue to work within this environment. Enjoy
if you need to use a credit and find it hard to pick a book. This book will not disappoint you. Not great but good enough to say the credit was worthwhile
Good audio book but not in the clase of Daniel DaSilva, Vince Flynn or any of the other fast paced books. It was good but not one that that compellled me to go or a drive to keep listening to it.
Typical book with the great character Alon.
If you like Stephen Hunter novels and Bobby Lee Swagger you will enjoy this book. I usually try to listen to a book over a couple weeks so I stretch my 1 credit per month. This book I finished in a days. As good as any Daniel DaSilva with Alon or David Balducci trilogies. Enjoy.
