Book two left off with Gregor reading the Prophecy of Blood: a prophecy that calls for Gregor and Boots to return to the Underland to help ward off a plague. But this time, Gregor's mother refuses to let Gregor return to the Underland...until the rat Ripred assures the family that Gregor and Boots are needed only for a short meeting, which the crawlers will attend only if their "princess" Boots is present.

What did you love best about Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods?

Suzanne Collins really brings the story alive. I love the way she developed the characters in each book. She also introduces new characters in each new book. I am sad when she kills off her characters that she convinced the reader to love.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods?

The cliff hanger at the end. It made me want to purchase the next book right away.

Have you listened to any of Paul Boehmer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Only in the series. He has a good range of voices to fit the variety of characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    When Hamnet and Frill died.

Now, picking up from A Discovery of Witches' cliff-hanger ending, Shadow of Night plunges Diana Bishop and Matthew Clairmont into Elizabethan London, a world of spies, subterfuge, and a coterie of Matthew's old friends, the mysterious School of Night that includes Christopher Marlowe and Walter Raleigh. Here, Diana must locate a witch to tutor her in magic, Matthew is forced to confront a past he thought he had put to rest, and the mystery of Ashmole 782 deepens. Deborah Harkness has crafted a gripping journey through a world of alchemy, time travel, and magical discoveries.

Where does Shadow of Night rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Top 10.

What other book might you compare Shadow of Night to and why?

I would compare this to a Diana Gabaldon series. There was even some time travel in this one. Lots of historical fiction.

Which character – as performed by Jennifer Ikeda – was your favorite?

Harkness makes history interesting and weaves it in with her storyline in such a way that the reader forgets that so much of the material is fact. Harkness also went deeper into the characters and made them even more lovable. She also told us more about Sarah and Emily.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    The performance was great.

    Any additional comments?

The book is long, but I found that I was listening to it not only on my commute but also when I exercised and cleaned house. It was like reading a book that you can't put down.

Deep in the stacks of Oxford's Bodleian Library, young scholar Diana Bishop unwittingly calls up a bewitched alchemical manuscript in the course of her research. Descended from an old and distinguished line of witches, Diana wants nothing to do with sorcery; so after a furtive glance and a few notes, she banishes the book to the stacks. But her discovery sets a fantastical underworld stirring, and a horde of daemons, witches, and vampires soon descends upon the library.

    I didn't read it.

    No.

I can't wait to listen to the next book in this series.

After three romantic flame-outs in a year and a restaurant career going nowhere, Dani Buchanan needs a fresh start. She goes looking for her biological father, but never expects to find a senator running for president. As his long-lost "love child", Dani could seriously derail the election - something his handsome campaign manager, Alex Canfield, isn't going to let happen.

Would you listen to Tempting again? Why?

I usually don't listen to books more than once. However, I would be tempted to listen to the this series again. Food and romance together, what a great combination. My advise to anyone is to listen to the series in order starting with Sizzling. It is important for character development. Mallery did a great job with that in this series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I love all of the Buchanan siblings. I also came to enjoy Gloria in this book.

Have you listened to any of Therese Plummer’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I do not like to have different performers in the same series. I missed Alyson Silverman in the beginning but became accustomed to Plummers's performance as the book progressed.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions. It followed the same recipe as so many of Mallery's books. It was relaxing to listen to with no stress--just enjoyment.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Would you consider the audio edition of Divergent to be better than the print version?

Yes. I don't say that often, but the performance added so much to this one.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Divergent?

When Trice was the first to jump off the building without knowing what was below her. It was the first peak at her bravery.

    Which scene was your favorite?

There are so many great scenes. The description of each was meticulous.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes. When both Trice's parents gave their lives for her and exhibited such bravery.
