Uilleam MacRieve, a centuries-old Lykae warrior, was captured, caged, and experimented on by a shadowy human order, along with other immortals. During a prison break that devolved into one of the bloodiest massacres in recent history, he escapes. But the aftermath of his unspeakable torture preys on his damaged mind, while the wolf inside him roars for vengeance and carnage. In the days leading up to the full moon, can MacRieve rein in his beast, even when he encounters his mate - a vexingly impossible female unlike anything he'd ever dreamed for himself?

Where does Macrieve rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    definitely in the top 10%.

What other book might you compare Macrieve to and why?

previous book, "lothaire" which I think of as walking knee deep in wet cement. it was that painful to listen too.

What about Robert Petkoff’s performance did you like?

    everything except when he whispers.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

this book had so many moving moments its hard to choose. IT DEALS WITH ISSUES OF CHILD ABUSE. so this book could trigger some peoples issues. that said its very well written, and handles the issue in a sensitive way. it started slow but 1/3 of the way in it really picked up . some very explicit language. very glad I listened to it.

Would you try another book from Christine Feehan and/or Robert Sarkus?

    yes

What was one of the most memorable moments of Dark Lycan?

tatianna's fascination with the fire at the bar.

What three words best describe Robert Sarkus’s voice?

    bland, annoying, boring

Was Dark Lycan worth the listening time?

    yes, mostly

    Any additional comments?

some parts of story were very boring, and i'm not sure I like the direction mrs feehan is taking the story. after all the whole premise of the series is that carpathians are the biggest baddest warriors on the planet, so to find out there is another predator higher on the food chain is disconcerting. but I suppose she had to do something to freshen up the somewhat repetitive storyline. and I was disappointed by the cliff hanger ending. but it did hold my interest mostly, so I will purchase the next installment. I did like that so many of the characters from previous novels featured so prominently in the story.

When it comes to sex, Ash McIntyre has always explored his wilder side - extreme and uncompromising. He demands control. And he prefers women who want it like that. Then Ash meets Josie, who seems immune to his charms and his wealth. Intrigued, he begins a relentless pursuit, determined she won’t be the one who got away. He never imagined the one woman to tell him no would be the only woman who’d ever drive him to the edge of desire.

    nothing

I like some sex in a story, but this was overdone. regardless , I think the author pulled it together toward the middle and ended well.
