Too much like the first in the series. I thought the main character would at least be less whiney and predictable. Too bad. I was hoping.

No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible....

I have such a hard time with books like this where every teenager portrayed has serious problems. This is a total downer book and the language is awful. I would never suggest a teenager or adult, for that matter read this. I can't believe this is marketed to teenagers.

Clary Fray just wants her life to go back to normal - but that turns out to be impossible. For one thing, her mother is still in the hospital, in a mysterious coma. For another, she and her brother, Jace, have fallen under a cloud of suspicion now that the Shadowhunter world knows that Valentine is still alive - and that Jace and Clary are his son and daughter.

I couldn't give this a good review because of the whole incest angle. Too bad. Yucky and creepy-take it out and you have yourself a great story

I think this book would be better to be read and not listened to. The narrator has this obnoxious pause when she says Madam. I could hardly finish it

The child of a scheming father and ruthless mother, Lady Jane Grey is born during a time when ambition dictates action. Cousin to Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I, she is merely a pawn in a political and religious game in which one false step means a certain demise. But Lady Jane has remarkable qualities that help her to withstand the constant pressures of the royal machinery far better than most expect.

    "Backstory?"
    Overall

I liked this book, but couldn't help thinking it felt a lot like a bunch of backstory-almost like it was the set-up for the 2nd book. The characters are loveable and completely dispicable. You live in the main characters mind most of the time, which is okay, but I'd have liked a bit more action. Good comentary on free-will. I will read the next one for sure...I'm hoping the action will be coming.
