I didn't care for this book. The others all ended up being really engrossing but this was not the same for me.
When I first saw it was read by author I worried bu she was perfect!
Great experience and in new history for me. Times were slow but overall sweet an enjoyable.
I enjoyed the story but almost gave up because of the reader. The latent "s" and
Yelling were very difficult because I listen with earphones. Also he would then start whispering and also made all the women into shrieking whimpering idiots even though the characters were strong.
Top 15% - I listen to five or more books a month for the last three years.
She did a great job with all characters, male and femail.
Great followup to Discovery of Witches. Had to really reach sometimes but when you are talking about fantasy ad supernatural having to bridge a plot gap may require a reach.
But the main question is - can you believe that two people could look so much alike that those closest wouldn't know if they were switched.
That said - I enjoyed getting into the strange 'family'.
I am not a fan of the performance but this story was great. Loved getting to know our heroine more and see her grow.
You have to buy into the crazy and sometimes fantasical. But this one or maybe the series in general is getting tedious. Loved the early ones, Cabinet of Curiosities, Still Life with Crows and the one beneath the city of New York.
This was so different - the main character doesn't speak and it is an interesting twist in story telling. I enjoyed the story also and recommend but really enjoyed the difference.
This story is pretty compelling. I want to start the next book as soon as I am done. I am a commuter and use my road time for 'reading'. I love the way the characters develop and surprise you.
I like Roy Dotrice but sometimes find the way he slures and accents some of the characters distracting and difficult to understand.
I love the shocking endings!
I like John Grisham. I don't know that all his novels are great and at one time his characters and structure became repetative but I am very glad he wrote this and I listened to it.
