Lord Miles Vorkosigan has a problem that all his new power can't solve: unrequited love for the beautiful Vor widow Ekaterin Vorsoisson. Ekaterin is violently allergic to marriage as a result of her first exposure. But, as Miles learned from his late career in galactic covert ops, if a frontal assault won't do, go to subterfuge.

    "Space Opera"
    Overall

Grover Gardner's narration makes this story. I find myself looking at short men in a different way. I read and enjoyed the entire series years ago, but Grover makes the characters come alive. It is easy to listen A Civil Campaign and the other Vorkosigian audiobooks more than once. They are fun and addictive. For the richest experience, start at the beginning of the saga with A Warriors Apprentice.
A Civil Campaign is just as great as the first book. Just don't listen to this audiobook in the dentist chair, you might get hurt when you laugh.

Finally settled with Viking vampire Eric, Sookie finds normalcy just as chaos surrounds her. Sookie’s former lover Bill, her boss Sam, and even Eric are struggling with family problems. Then things get really interesting when the werewolves tell Sookie an ominous presence is lurking.

    "Loved it"
    Overall

There's nothing like a good Sookie Stackhouse mystery. I am impressed that Charlaine Harris has managed to keep the story fresh and exciting. She always surprises me. I'm still interested in and excited about the inhabitants of Bon Temps, Louisiana.
Johanna Parker brings the entire story to life. I love the voices she gives to all of the characters, it adds another dimension to the on-going story. In my opinion, Johanna's reading of the Sookie Stackhouse books is better than reading them myself.

  • At Home in Mitford: The Mitford Years, Book 1

It's easy to feel at home in Mitford. In these high, green hills, the air is pure, the village is charming, and the people are generally lovable. Yet Father Tim, the bachelor rector, wants something more. Enter a dog the size of a sofa who moves in and won't go away. Add an attractive neighbor who begins wearing a path through the hedge. Now, stir in a lovable but unloved boy, a mystifying jewel theft, and a secret that's 60 years old.

    "Smiles all around"
    Overall

I have listened to this series several times. It is one of my favorites. The everyday adventures of Father Tim, Cynthia, Dooley and the other inhabitants of Mitford, never fail to put a smile in my heart. John McDonough brings just the right down home voice to Jan Karon's memorable characters.
I have often wondered what people think as they see me driving with a silly grin on my face. If they only knew how happy this and every story in the Mitford series makes me.

  • Gramercy Park

Mario Alfieri, the world's most famous tenor, is preparing to make his debut at the Met. As he rents a house facing Gramercy Park, he discovers a pale young woman hiding in its music room. Her love and secrets soon mesmerize the great man. Set in turn-of-the-century New York, this is a tale of passion, intrigue, and murder.

    I. says: "A romance, not a mystery"
    "A winner"
    Overall

I disagree with the other review. I was pleasantly surprised to find Gramercy Park a gothic-style, romantic thriller filled with twists and turns from beginning to end. This is not a formulaic mystery or romance. I found the characters to be engrossing and Cohen's descriptions of 1890 New York life to be facinating.
