Normally I love her books, but I could hardly get through this one. 80% of the book was filled with long drawn out descriptions of love scenes. I found myself fast forwarding through these as they were just too over the top dramatic in nature and very repetitive. The story itself could have been told in just a few hours and lacked a real plot or interest until the last hour or so of the book.
I normally like Julie Garwood's books but this was so awful I couldn't get past the first 40 minutes. My dislike of the characters and the story was made worse or perhaps caused by the awful narrator - so whiney sounding. Give this book a pass.
Each of the Iron Druid books is better than the previous leaving the reader obsessing about the release date and content of the next. Will Ragnarok begin in the next book? Will Oberon and Orla "hook up" and how will the excellent narrator Luke Daniels voice her? So many questions to be answered. So write faster Mr. Hearne, your devoted fans are waiting!
Once again Jim Butcher delivers a gem with non stop action and plot twists guaranteed to keep you glued to your headset. And the ending! Holy cow - talk about your cliff hanger. I hope Butcher is busy writing because I can't wait for the next book.
