Haunted by a dark secret in his past, he hides out in his basement room, avoiding the world. But when a new kid moves in next door Max's life changes forever. The two outcasts form the "normal" world team up to become "Freak the Mighty".

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

What made the experience of listening to The Fault in Our Stars the most enjoyable?

It was good to hear a young woman's voice telling the story, obviously. I could visualize so much of the story. (I have not seen the movie.)

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Fault in Our Stars?

From chapter 11 on, all were memorable.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Cannot say I have a favorite. There were many intense chapters. Gus's pre-funeral was very intense.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The last four chapters moved me. Listened to them on a flight home and had to contain the tears. It was not easy.

    Any additional comments?

I do not usually read teen books unless they are dystopian stories since my students love them. I did like listening to this story!!! It made the story more real for me and I was more focused and interested. I felt a different perspective by listening that I would not have felt had I read.
