Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. I loved this book. I have listened to many, many audiobooks..Feehan, Nalani Singh, Molly Harper, Kresley Cole, Lisa Kleypas, Mary Balogh, Jacquelyn Frank, Thea Harrison, Sherrilyn Kenyon, JR Ward, Gena Showalter, on and on. This ranks among one of my favorites. In quite a few books I end up skipping through a lot of descriptive parts just wanting to get to the exciting parts; but I actually enjoyed the author's metaphors describing the world, events and the characters' feelings. It also helps that this book has action and great romance.

    Any additional comments?

The narration was great. I cannot listen to an audiobook if the narration is lacking no matter how good character development or plot is. I thought this narrator made the men sound yummy, and also had a nice sounding voice for the heroine.

Devyn is a warrior, and an unrepentant collector of women, able to charm anyone. Anyone except Bride McKells. Uneducated in the ways of the vampire, Bride is not even sure if other vampires exist. Seductive Devyn has the answers she craves, and he can take her to the dark underground of her people. But Bride’s blood might hold the key to saving Devyn’s friends, so he’s loath to let her go. Especially when he begins to crave her more than he’s ever craved another.

Would you try another book from Gena Showalter and/or Justine Eyre?

I have read many of her books.

What could Gena Showalter have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Nothing.

How could the performance have been better?

I really like Justine Eyre's performances. I have read other reviewers who do not care for her, but I am always happy when I see that it is her. I feel like a narrator makes all the difference in how I enjoy a book too. There have been many that I have not been able to finish because of the narrator.

    Any additional comments?

I have read and listened to it seems like a zillion books. At this point, many times I skip through portions of most books I listen to, but I had no desire to skip any portion of this book. It was just the right amt of everything.

First of all, I read romance novels to escape, not for historical accuracy. I liked both the hero, heroine and their interactions in this story. The narrator was great at giving distinctive voices for each character.
