Napoleon Hill was an American author who is widely considered to be one of the greatest writers on success. His works examined the power of personal beliefs, and the role they play in personal success. He became an advisor to President Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1933-36. "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve" is one of Hill's hallmark expressions.

If you could sum up The Teachings of Napoleon Hill: The Law of Success, The Lost Prosperity Secrets of Napoleon Hill, The Magic Ladder to Success in three words, what would they be?

Detailed and intense would be the three words that I would use. This is not a one time listen to type audio book, but at the same time it is very long. I would recommend taking a section at a time and listening to it until you get it.

America, in so many ways, has forgotten: Its roots, its purpose, its identity - all have become shrouded behind a veil of political correctness bent on twisting the nation’s founding, and its founders, to fit within a misshapen modern mold. The time has come to remember again. In The Jefferson Lies, prominent historian David Barton sets out to correct the distorted image of once-beloved founding father Thomas Jefferson.

What did you like best about this story?

How well researched it was with source documentation noted. This was an excellent and captivating story. I hesitated to get it, but am very glad that I did. So much of what I thought about Jefferson has been proved incorrect.

What does Bill DeWees bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Reader of the book was not my favorite. It wasn't bad, just not great but that is probably more of a personal preference because there was nothing I could point to that was wrong with the reading.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but it totally kept my interest. I actually finished the book much faster than others.

More than a million listeners have thrilled to Bill O'Reilly's Killing Lincoln, the can't-stop-listening work of nonfiction about the shocking assassination that changed the course of American history. Now the anchor of The O'Reilly Factor recounts in gripping detail the brutal murder of John Fitzgerald Kennedy—and how a sequence of gunshots on a Dallas afternoon not only killed a beloved president but also sent the nation into the cataclysmic division of the Vietnam War and its culture-changing aftermath.

Would you listen to Killing Kennedy again? Why?

Probably not. Most of the information I already knew that which I learned was interesting but was not that important in the whole scheme of things. It was worth the listen, but having listened to it I probably would have put it a little lower on my priority list and listened to some others I intend to hear first.

    Any additional comments?

Killing Lincoln was a much better book, but probably because it was more easily researched where there is a lot of speculation surrounding JFK's assanination.

This is the incredible story of the world's greatest conqueror, a man who single handedly changed the course of history...and who was worshipped as a god. There have been many attempts in the 2,300 years since Alexander's death to tell the epic story of this enigmatic soldier. His deeds read like the stuff of legends. Of all the chroniclers of Alexander, and there have been many famous ones, including Plutarch and Ptolemy, none have given us a clearer and truer account than the one by Arrian.

Some parts were interesting, but overall I found boring

"The Case for a 100 Percent Gold Dollar" was written a decade before the last vestiges of the gold standard were abolished.

This book just did not click with me, the facts as laid out by the author were hard for me to agree with. I know many listen to him and he has been right on several occasions, but I just don't see the things going the way he has stated.

North Korea is isolated and hungry, bankrupt and belligerent. It is also armed with nuclear weapons. Between 150,000 and 200,000 people are being held in its political prison camps, which have existed twice as long as Stalin’s Soviet gulags and twelve times as long as the Nazi concentration camps. Very few born and raised in these camps have escaped - but Shin Dong-hyuk did.
