In this remarkable recording, C.S. Lewis shows why millions of readers have acclaimed him the greatest spokesman for Christianity in the twentieth century. In a resonant, baritone voice, Lewis explores the nature of the four Greek words that are translated love in English: "storge" (affection), "philia" (friendship), "eros" (sexual or romantic love) and "agape" (selfless love).

William says: "Insightful Views on Love"
"A recording of CS Lewis himself!"
    Overall

Excellent and in depth talks on the 4 types of love - affection (storge),friendship (philia), erotic love (eros), and the love of God (agape). Very practical and easy to understand. This is not a reading from the book "The Four Loves". Instead it is material that Lewis read directly from his transcrpts and was recorded in 1958 and broadcast over the radio. The material was included 2 years later in his book "The Four Loves". This is the only professional recording of CS Lewis' voice available today.

Mere Christianity is C.S. Lewis' forceful and accessible doctrine of Christian belief. First heard as informal radio broadcasts and then published as three separate books, The Case for Christianity, Christian Behavior, and Beyond Personality, Mere Christianity brings together what Lewis sees as the fundamental truths of the religion.

    "Excellent reading by Geoffrey Howard"
    Overall

Geoffrey Howard does an excellent job reading this great work by CS Lewis. He has a very pleasant sounding British accent not harsh like some. Mere Christianity is a must read for anyone.

Max McLean brings his compelling voice and artistic narrative skills to the ESV Bible. This Gold Medallion-winning new translation combines a word-for-word translation approach with a literary beauty that is perfect for the oral expression of God's Word.

James says: "Excellent Audiobook, no chapter breaks"
    "Good recording - Great translation"
    Overall

The recording is high quality with some soft background music that I at 1st thought would be distracting, but after listening for a while found it not to be so.
This is the 1st time I have listened to the ESV and must say that I really enjoy the way it flows. Very simple yet accurate translation. I currently read from the NKJV but I will probably switch to this with the purchase of my next Bible.
