I'm an RN: Retired Nurse (-: Living the good life. I'm enjoying my hobbies: playing music and Photography, I do a lot of both in beautiful Balboa Park. I listen to Audible books during my 2 mile walk to the gym; 4 days a week, and during my boring workouts! I like movies, theater, cooking, my friends and my cat; not necessarily in that order, and life in general.

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

I could add nothing more to the commend this book; it has been done, beautifully and enthusiastically; several times over, and anything I could say would merely be redundant.

But there has been nothing said about the voice of Kirby Heyborne; and that does deserve mention.

There is a Nat King Cole quality to it; a faint, uniquely subtle, resonance that is only noticeable when he is speaking quietly; in Nick's voice. It is so nuanced, and that I found myself listening for, and relishing it, every time it came though.

I am putting him on the top of my list of performers.
