  • First to Kill

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 42 mins)
    • By Andrew Peterson
    • Narrated By Dick Hill
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

When you're the best at what you do, it's not always easy to walk away. Nathan McBride was retired. The trained Marine sniper and covert CIA operative had put the violence of his former life behind him. But not anymore. A deep-cover FBI agent has disappeared along with one ton of powerful Semtex explosive, enough to unleash a disaster of international proportions. The U.S. government has no choice but to coax Nathan out of retirement.

Ed says: "Sniper thriller par excellence"
    "a real thriller"

enjoyed this book..the protagonist was believable given his background and while the ending was a bit flat, it opened the way for a sequal...most characters were weaved well into an absorbing story...

  • Pop Goes the Weasel

    • UNABRIDGED (10 hrs and 17 mins)
    • By James Patterson
    • Narrated By Michael Kramer

The latest from the author of When the Wind Blows and Kiss the Girls reveals Patterson at the peak of his power and is easily his most dynamic and compelling psychological thriller to date. Here is a chilling villain, a love story of great tenderness, and a plot of relentless suspense and heart-pounding pace.

    Mario says: "So So Book-ahhhhhh"
    "not the best"

I enjoy most of Patterson's works...if it was't for the narrator who I agree with the other reviewers was not very good, it was a good story...

  • Nightlife

    • UNABRIDGED (12 hrs and 28 mins)
    • By Thomas Perry
    • Narrated By Shelly Frasier

When the cousin of Los Angeles underworld figure Hugo Poole is found shot to death in his Portland, Oregon, home, police find nothing at the scene of the crime except several long strands of blonde hair hinting that a second victim may have been involved. Hotel security tapes from the victim's last vacation reveal an out-of-focus picture of a young blond woman entering and leaving his room. Could she also be a murder victim?

Barbara says: "Just what you want in a book like this..."
    "a good read"

I enjoyed this audiobook, and found the serial killer and detective who was on her case involving. The unemotional pattern and calculating way she moved through the story was intriguing and it seemed like it would take an accident for her to be caught...Very well plotted.

Thomas Andrews says: "Thanks for this wonderful collaboration"

excellent book and expertly narrated...if you're looking for a thriller with much suspense, excitement, and substance, this is is a good look at south africa at the time of apartheid...although over 20hrs., did not want it to end...
