I have read all three books in this series and throughly enjoyed each and everyone. Well worth the time to start at the beginning and listen to all three. Can't wait for another one.
I was so hoping that this would be typical Stephen King horror novel, which I am addicted too. But, I was sorely disappointed. I found the story would have been good for another writer of just "stories". But I wanted a good down to earth horror story. Nope did not get one. Bascially, the story put me to sleep. Mr. King, write what we all love about you, good ole fashion, edge of the seat creepiness. I miss that!!!!
The narrating was really bad and the story lack any thrill at all. A waster of a credit and nine minutes.
I was really happy to finally listen to the old time Stephen King. I have not liked his last two non horror books. This one gets back to the Stephen King I grew up with and loved. A good horror novel. Thanks for writing one for the horror fans.
I was bored from the beginning. I thought it would get better, but no. I listened until the last hour and a half and couldn't take wasting my time anymore. It was not exciting, not a thriller. It just basically talked about the lives of the people going on this expedition. Really never got into the mystery of how the people disappeared. Maybe, it got into that the last hour of the book, but I couldn't wait that long for some excitement. Don't waste your time.
This book kept my attention from the very begining until the end. A good twist on a sci fi story. Exciting.
I thought for a Stephen King book, this one was a bit sappy. A coming to adulthood book, lost loves, a crippled boy etc. It really never got exciting. I was pretty much bored. I really wish King would go back to his later writings. More thrill and gore that catches you at the begining and never lets you go until the very end.
I didn't find the third and final book of the Hunger Game series as enjoyable and exciting as the first two. It had a slow start and the overall rebellion was a bit boring and lacking any excitement as the other two books. It did get better towards the end. Unfortunately, you have to listen to the rest to get to the good parts.
Enjoyed this book as much as The Hunger Games. Now on to the third book in the series.
I really enjoyed this. A great cast of characters. It was hard to stop listening. I can't wait for the movie to come out in March.
I found this book to be really boring. It just seemed to repeat itself over and over. We realized that the main character saw bed bugs, but please....they kept repeating that for the next three hours of the book. The author could have gotten into the creepy part of the story much earlier. The best part of the book was the last thirty minutes. I wish they could have extended that part of the story. But no....it was a big snore fest.
