This book was incredibly unrealistic to the point of nauseum...A beautiful A-List actress gives up her cushy life in LA to move back to a one horse town in texas (that the good people of the other parts of texas probably wouldn't even want to live in) because she had an accident that left a scar on her face that's barely recognizable and hooks up with a cowboy (very stereotypical) that's barely even in the book to have a happily ever after living on a farm milking cows and raising chickens...YEAH RIGHT!!! lol
I almost skipped this book because I read the previous review for it but I had a free credit so I decided to give it a try. I actually loved the story. I thought it was very well written and it had everything I look for in a romantic suspense. I agree that the narrator was a tad monotone but she nor the book was nearly as bad as the other reviewer claims IMO. But opinions vary from person to person so that's why I say listen to it for yourself and form your own. The ending actually came at a surprise to me which is not normally the case with these books. I was very impressed with the way the author dropped clues and didn't make it obvious who the villain was.
I liked it and I'm looking forward to the next book. I say give it a try, you might be surprised.
I love Brenda Novak's books and this one was no exception! I love her writing style and this was a trilling end to a great series! I highly recommend this series!
The heroine in this book got on my nerves so much I couldn't even finish it! All of her "I love you/I hate you" banter though out the whole book was irritating to say the least. she was also a little TSTL.. He repeatedly saved her life and tried to protect her but she was just so stubborn it was ridiculous! I really was scratching my head as to why the hero would even want her! I know he kissed another woman and I understand why she was upset in the beginning but COME ON! GET OVER IT or just don't date him!
I was a bit confused about the plot of this book...I know several people who have read the hard copy and said that there was an insane amount of typos and timeline errors in it. I'm glad i decided on the audio version of this book! but it was still a bit confusing though..but it's pretty much what I expect from Lora Leigh so it was fine.
cute and short read..I enjoyed it. If you're looking for some fun and short then you should give this book a try.
I think Lora Leigh just likes to write sex scenes and she throws a little bit of suspense in the book to fill in the word count. That being said, the loves scenes were hot and I liked the characters..if that's what you're looking for then she's the author for you! I just take Lora for what she is..sex with a little plot thrown in.
Although i love the book, I was a little disappointed in the lack of romance between the hero and the heroine..I think it could've been a little more developed.
I'm a huge fan of Ms. Novak and I will continue to be! I love her writing style it never lets me down!
short but a hot read! I enjoyed it the love scene was pretty hot as well.
