While in Paris on business, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon receives an urgent late-night phone call. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, a baffling cipher found near the body. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist, Sophie Neveu, sort through the bizarre riddle, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Da Vinci, clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.

    Jonas says: "Overall Good"
    "Not bad entertainment"
    Overall

The premise seems to get stretched a little to thin, but it's not a bad novel.

At the core of this book is an appalling double murder committed by two Mormon Fundamentalist brothers, Ron and Dan Lafferty, who insist they received a revelation from God commanding them to kill their blameless victims. Weaving the story of the Lafferty brothers and their fanatical brethren with a clear-eyed look at Mormonism's violent past, Krakauer examines the underbelly of the most successful homegrown faith in the United States, and finds a distinctly American brand of religious extremism.

Craig Hansen says: "Not bad, but a bit biased"
    "An excellent book"
    Overall

Well researched and thoughtfully written. It is difficult for me to understand why this book is not on Audible's best seller list and why is has not recevied better ratings.

To a degree both engrossing and alarming, the story of fast food is the story of postwar America. Fast Food Nation is a groundbreaking work of investigation and cultural history that may change the way America thinks about the way it eats.

  • Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right

Finding logical inconsistencies, factual errors, and doublespeak wherever he looks, Al Franken takes on and destroys the myth of liberal bias in the media, hoists the Bush White House on its own rhetorical petard, and punctures the mean-spirited sanctimony of such media darlings as Ann Coulter and Bill O'Reilly. Timely, provocative, unfailingly honest, and always uproarious, Lies is sure to raise hackles and spark hilarity inside the Beltway and from sea to shining sea.

Peter says: "Franken's One Sided View"
    "Well worth hearing"
    Overall

A careful documentation of some of the actions of the current administration's behavior. While Mr. Frankin's humor is always present, it does not distract one from the importance of the informaiton he provides or the effort that he and his colleagues have made in researching the topics they cover. Nice to have someone who writes about political topics and makes a concerted effort to check his (and others') facts rather than speculating, "adjusting" information to suit ideological ends, etc. The title seems apt.
