Carol Burnett did her own audio which I really appreciate. Part of the fun of the story is to hear her tell it.
There were several laugh out loud moments while I listened. She described how she got seated in a fancy NYC restaurant while wearing a pantsuit. It was "in the day" when a lady didn't wear a pantsuit. Carol's approach was so clever and so funny. You feel like you're watching the whole thing unfold. She's a great story-teller.
Carol is the real deal. She's very down to earth and generous to the memory of her family and friends. I think when you grew up watching her show as I did, it felt very nostalgic. I'm so happy that I got to experience her show during a time in show business when real talent and showmanship ruled the day.
I loved how she described the tough times. She didn't dig in the dirt at all. She's a class act and that classiness is moving to me.
I can't wait to buy the show collection. I'm getting for my mom since we used to watch her show together when I was a kid. Then, I hope to inherit the collection. :)
