"Funny"
This is a very funny book. Worth listening! I laughed a lot, and could sympathize with Alina.
"Smart, sexy, thrilling... even educational! :)"
This is one of those books that pulls you into a whole new world, where you begin to believe that it's all very real while you're in the midst of it. Captivating would be a good word. Anyone who is a history buff along with being a vampire/witch genre fan will get a real kick out of this. A must read! This is intelligently written but also fun all the way.
"Boooooooring"
The story line is unbearably predictable. I rolled my eyes about 50 times (ha ha) before finally turning it off about 3/4 of the way through, never to listen again. I like the first two books OK, but not this one. I got really tired of the characters, too, what with Ana's lack of a backbone or self identity and Christian's appalling lack of anger management or respect for Ana. I just got weary of listening to their codependency. I could put up with their character flaws when there was a more interesting overall story happening, but the story line in Freed is appallingly dull.
Maybe.
Her voice for Christian is one dimensional and sounds silly. It would be better if she put more flavor into his voice and less of an attempt to sound like a man (fake lowered voice). So, yes, I'd listen to her again, but I urge her management to rethink the way her recordings are mastered.
Christian. He has no redeeming features other than his money. Imagine him without money, and he no longer seems appealing, despite his sexual skills. Without money, he wouldn't be able to cover up his control freakishness in stylish ways like he does. Imagine Ana actually growing up into a self-assured woman who wouldn't allow herself to be flattened by whatever whims this man has.
"No Lucid Dreams Yet"
No. So far, it doesn't seem to work. I've listened to it every day for a week and a half with no lucid dreams. I'll keep trying for another week or two just in case.
The end is awful. See, this book is very nice to listen to, very soothing with birds, water, bells, rain, etc. all mixed together. Then, at the end, it just abruptly stops, with no fade out or anything!
