In a family rife with secrets - murder, hidden identities, perversions - and a depraved sense of honor, the player who wins the game may be the only one who will survive. Full of the late master's trademark elements - remarkable characters, dazzling plotting, and a page-turning narrative style - this sizzling sequel vividly captures the master's voice and irresistible magic.

    P. C..S. says: "I second the "Disaster" comment"
    "Good job"
    Overall

It's been so long since I've heard anything from Sheldon. It was a pleasant experience..not quite "Master of the Game", but that's just my opinion. This was well worth the listen.

Nick Heller is tough, smart, and stubborn. And in his line of work, it's essential. Trained in the Special Forces, Nick is a high-powered intelligence investigator - exposing secrets that powerful people would rather keep hidden. He's a guy you don't want to mess with. He's also the man you call when you need a problem fixed. Desperate, with nowhere else to run, Nick's nephew, Gabe makes that call one night.

Earl says: "Excellent weaving and unexpected"
    "Thoroughly Entertaining!"
    Overall

Joseph Finder is a master of his craft...and suspense is definitely his craft. The narrator, Holter Graham, is superb. I've listened to him in other works. He has an awesome voice for this style of writing. The characters came alive..and, well, went through a lot of changes throughout the story. The reader and the novelist=Great Listen!

The Preacher's Son captivates with all the intensity expected of a Weber novel. Bishop T.K. Wilson is a pillar of the community, pastor of the largest African-American church in Queens, NY, and has always tended to he needy. Running for borough president, he faces one shocking revelation after another that could not only derail his campaign, but also force him to reevaluate his family values.

    Mrs. Julius says: "Flygirl"
"Weber knows how to tell a story!"
    Overall

Carl Weber certainly knows how to paint a story with colorful characters that develop into a masterpiece of fiction. I enjoyed not knowing what to expect in this tale of woe and whoa!

his most powerful and intricately-plotted novel yet. Thirteen year-old Johnny Merrimon had the perfect life: happy parents and a twin sister that meant the world to him. But Alyssa went missing a year ago, stolen off the side of a lonely street with only one witness to the crime. His family shattered, his sister presumed dead, Johnny risks everything to explore the dark side of his hometown in a last, desperate search.

    Christine says: "Stick With It!"
    "Twists, Turns.."
    Overall

This was a great listen.. filled with twists and turns just the way a mystery buff desires. I kept putting off the purchase of this book, even though I thoroughly enjoyed Hart's last. Now I can't wait for the next one. I'll buy it promptly.
