A wonderful classic story of old New York. The narrator was competent, but not exciting.
I thought I was purchasing a short novel and it started innocently enough, but it soon became clear that this is an "inspirational" novel. I wasn't too inspired. It's more insipid than inspired.
I especially enjoyed this because I recently visited Australia and some of the descriptions are perfect, but overall I found it a bit unexciting.
A bit like a fairy tale - with lots to think about. Not earth-shaking, but pleasant.
I expected this to be a great book, having been chosen as audiobook of the year. Athough it was funny at times, overall I found it to be fluffy and unimportant.
I didn't love the narrators.
I loved "Everything is Illuminated" on audio book, so I would be willing to give this author another try.
A very entertaining story. The narrator really brings it to life. I was sad when it was over.
No - The author makes some interesting points, but even he suggests you buy a hard copy of the book. There are just too many indexes and prescriptions and charts to make this a good audiobook.
