I wouldn't want to insult anyone.
It will be a while till I listen to something like this in a while.
Not sure if the voice was making the book worse or the book was making the reading unbearable
If I was reading the book, I would have just read the vigilante killings. The love scenes were annoying and hard to stomach. Hey you, hey you.
Many times I was just going to download something else, but thought it had to get better.
Good, Bad, Ugly
I love books that aren't distracting. Also, if I wasn't listening, I was thinking about the characters.
Wow! What an enjoyable listen. I love the combination of this author and narrator. I've listened to Secret keepers and that was similar. Different women in different parts of history.
I think of this story many months after listening to it. Mostly the happy parts, as there was so much sadness to this book as well. In fact I didn't even finish 2 chapters as she described a couple tragedies. I was driving and couldn't see through my tears! However the happy ending made it all worth it.
I loved the playfulness to this book. I learned a lot about Egyptology and enjoyed the non-stop action.
It was both nice and distracting having 2 readers. You get used to one reader and their voices for characters and then have to shift gears.
The story line is interesting, but too much going on with little progress
The narrator was absolutely terrible!!! He sounds sooo bored. You hear his sighs, every breath, the licking of his lips. I'm not finishing this and would rather read the ending. He's that bad!
Save your money and read this one!
It was funny at times. Suspenseful. Engaging. I was expecting a horror with a weak plot, but was I surprised. The characters were believable and the story was surprising. Loved it!
Roy was the perfect reader. He could make the characters sound happy without having to laugh. He had the right pauses and sighs. Each character had their own voice without sounding silly. He was not distracting and didn't take from the story like many readers do.
Yes. I found myself finding ways so I could keep listening like going for long walks or staying on the treadmill longer.
After listening to this one, it's been hard finding another that makes me want to stay on the treadmill.
Great feel-good book. It's nice to listen to a book with tasteful sex and minimal cussing. I can listen and forget about the world. That's what makes a great book.
The plot had few surprises, but that's fine. Nora typically writes about simple living, but that to me is a fantasy!
The love the majority of the characters have for each other and the things around them just leaves you with peace.
I didn't want this book to end. You want to be a part of this town and the people.
The narrator was perfect. You knew what character was speaking without foolish voices and distractions.
This book had great potential, if the authors would have stuck to one story line. They should have stuck with the super bug.
The creator of GeneDym is a brilliant geneticist AND computer genius? Yet he's not smart enough to stop production of a blood product that could make people crazy and carry around a vial of a virus that could wipe out humanity? There were so many holes in the story line and absurd side tangents I had to listen to this at a 1.5 speed to get this over with.
A guy spends almost a day in an elevator (don't get me started on the computer program) to talk to a man to stop release of a product and stop playing with a super flu, to then play some stupid game with no calls made? Then we get a very long and detailed journey out in the desert, but we never hear about the people infected. Don't waste your time with this book!
The details of creating the super flu
I already recommended this book to my mother. Even though post-apocalyptic books are not her favorite, the story and characters were great.
Of course Juliette, but Solo gets a nod since he was surprisingly not crazy.
Does she really need to laugh or sigh when the book says the character did? And the male characters sounded cartoonish. I rolled my eyes a lot!
Yes, I found myself listening to this book while cleaning and cooking.
The story was great. It felt real unlike some of my prior books. I found myself caught up in the story. The people. I laughed a lot and the main characters were so kind and entertaining.
I wish I could live in this town with these people. The gossip, the stories, the simple living. Loved it all.
No, but he has been my favorite narrator so far.
Can't wait to get more books from this auther and narrator.
A cute story, but nothing to write home about
Maybe, not an action, romantic, or thiller. Just something to listen to.
Not good, not bad.
