But Mitch Rapp is no one’s pawn, and he will stop at nothing to find out who has set him up.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I've been a huge fan of all of Mitch's adventures until now! The reader was so bad that by 1 hour in I turned it off and ordered the book from Amazon. I couldn't stand it anymore. As any veteran of audio books with testify the READER can make or break a book. I've downloaded hundreds of books over the last 8 years and I should have known better when I saw that the reader wasn't George Guidall who does most of the series. Save your money here and buy the paper copy if you see it isn't George reading.

How could the performance have been better?

This book is truly amazing. I don't care what your stance on the war on terror is. You will come away with a better realization of how lucky we are, even blessed, to live in a country where brave men have always risen to the threat against our families, country, and liberty! Marcus makes my heart swell with pride in the american defined attribute of uncommon courage by common americans. I am so greatful for the sacrafice that so many have made that freedom may ring through out this land.

An interesting look into Foreign relations. Interesting how the USA knew where Pablo Escobar was at but the Colombian Authorities where unable to apprehend him. I have done my own research and one of the final theories on Pablo's death is absolutely correct. You will have to read to understand.

A User says: "Candid view of a marine and modern war"
    "Don't waste your time"
    Overall

The reader isn't very good and the book is a cry baby's whining. I love these people who sign up for the benefits of the military (education, leadership training, discipline, and of course adventure and then are angry when they have to fulfill the main mission of the military, Defend and Fight for the USA. This is a poorly written and worthless book. It will go the way of obscurity as all bad books do even with Hollywood behind it.

It's a deadly dilemma for Martin Odum: both remembering and forgetting his past are dangerous options. A discharged CIA agent turned private detective, Odum is struggling through a labyrinth of memories from past identities, "legends", in CIA parlance. Is he really Martin Odum? Or is he Dante Pippen, IRA explosives specialist? Or Lincoln Dittmann, Civil War expert? Or another, hidden legend?

    Johnnie Walker says: "Outstanding Reading"
    "Littell does it again"
    Overall

The first Robert Littell book I read was the Company which is a spectacular book. I read some of his other books afterwards and they were good but not like the company. Legends is AWESOME! It is as good if not bette than the Company. Great story with twists and turns. Finished it in 3 days and wished it wasn't over, which to me is a sign of a GREAT book.

All the Pretty Horses, the first volume of the Borders Trilogy, tells of young John Grady Cole, the last of a long line of Texas ranchers. Across the border Mexico beckons; beautiful and desolate, rugged and cruelly civilized. With two companions, he sets off on an idyllic, sometimes comic adventure, to a place where dreams are paid for in blood.

"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says (Publishers Weekly).

Cynthia says: "Hang on to your Hat"
    "One of the Best"
    Overall

This is one of the best books Audible has to offer. This book made me a believer in audio books. I've always been a reader and I scoffed at "listening to a book" This book converted me. I felt all the emotions and imaginations that a paper book gives while listening to this book. If you like Clancy or Spy Novels this is the book to get. The Reader is awesome.
