The book is slow to begin, as I found myself thinking through the first few chapters. It does pick up though, and delivers on what it promises with some interesting insights and stories. On top of this, it seems as though Dr. Goulston is a genuinely nice guy, making the book a more interesting read overall. And if your googling yourself, hi Dr. Goulston!

A Short History of Nearly Everything is Bill Bryson's quest to understand everything that has happened from the Big Bang to the rise of civilization. He takes subjects that normally bore the pants off most of us, like geology, chemistry, and particle physics, and aims to render them comprehensible to people who have never thought they could be interested in science. In the company of some extraordinary scientists, Bill Bryson reveals the world in a way most of us have never seen it before.

Would you listen to A Short History of Nearly Everything again? Why?

Full of interesting insights and an accurately condensed picture of scientific achievements of the past few hundred years.

What did you like best about this story?

The oddities and eccentricitries of the various people was a welcome addition to what would have otherwise been a far less interesting story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I found my engagement was steered more towards the sections I am personally interested in, such as the quantum physics and planetary parts, but I didn't find any part 'boring'.

    Any additional comments?

One of my favourite downloads so far, there is something in there for everyone.

You have the incredible power to change the way you think, perceive, and react to stress - for the better - through cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). CBT has been known to be widely successful in the treatment of problems associated with anxiety, depression, mood, personality, addiction, weight, and emotions. Until recently, access to CBT was only available through professional therapy. Now with The Brain Mechanic, Spencer Lord delivers a concise, entertaining, and easy-to-use guide that demystifies cognitive behavioral therapy.

What did you learn from The Brain Mechanic that you would use in your daily life?

This is a short overview of cognitive behavioural therapy, and how it can be used to control emotions in your brain. It also does a good job of making the important distinction events and emotions in relation to that event.

    Any additional comments?

Considering the low price and short play time, this is a concise introduction to CBT without having to commit to a full length book.

What did you love best about The Five Love Languages: The Secret to Love That Lasts?

I always like it when an author narrates their own book, as it adds that extra spark to the audiobook. I am also a fan of Dr. Chapman's accent!

    Any additional comments?

The advice here is a unique look relationships, and although some of the advice is a little outdated, much of it is still relevant. I have found that the best way to approach the languages is to take time to use all of them in unison, changing the degree of each depending on your spouse.
