What the Eldredge best sellers Wild at Heart did for men, and Captivating did for women, Love & War will do for married couples everywhere. John and Stasi Eldredge have contributed the quintessential works on Christian spirituality through the experience of men and the experience of women, and now they turn their focus to the incredible dynamic between those two forces.

I LOVED this book. I LOVE all the books that these authors have put out. I found the content to be superb. If people would take these words, lessons and wisdom to heart, I believe there would be many more happily married couples and that there would be fewer divorces. This would be a good one to listen over again every year.

A teen idol at 15, an international icon and founder of the Brat Pack at 20, and one of Hollywood's top stars to this day, Rob Lowe chronicles his experiences. Never mean-spirited or salacious, Lowe delivers unexpected glimpses into his successes, disappointments, relationships, and one-of-a-kind encounters with people who shaped our world over the last 25 years. These stories are as entertaining as they are unforgettable.

Enjoyed this book very much. I thought the author reading it was a good touch. It felt personal. I wasn't very familiar with Rob Lowe before listening to this book but now feel I have better understanding of his background which makes watching him onscreen more interesting.

Millions of Christians have struggled with how to reconcile God's love and God's judgment: Has God created billions of people over thousands of years only to select a few to go to heaven and everyone else to suffer forever in hell? Is this acceptable to God? How is this "good news"? Author, pastor, and innovative teacher Rob Bell presents a deeply biblical vision for rediscovering a richer, grander, truer, and more spiritually satisfying way of understanding heaven, hell, God, Jesus, salvation, and repentance.

While I can't say that I concur, agree, subscribe or have completely made my mind up about every idea and thought in this book, I can say that I have enjoyed the thoughts, conversations and discussions that have come out of listening to it. I've actually listened to it 3 times because it's pretty short.

  • Erasing Hell: What God Said about Eternity, and the Things We Made Up

How could a loving God send people to Hell? Will people have a chance after they die to believe in Jesus and go to heaven? With a humble respect for God’s Word, Francis Chan and Preston Sprinkle address the deepest questions you have about eternal destiny. They’ve asked the same questions. Like you, sometimes they just don’t want to believe in Hell. But, as they write, “We cannot afford to be wrong on this issue.” This is not a book about who is saying what. It’s a book about what God says.

I enjoyed the scholarly approach that was taken with this book and yet it was down to earth enough for the average folk to enjoy (me). Lots of stuff for thought here.

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone out to make sure you don't live to see the morning? In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by 12 outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of 12 and 18 to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

I made sure to give this a listen before watching the film. I'm very glad I did. The extra insights gained from the book were nice. However, I should say that the film was very close to the book (for once!). I appreciated the reader's voice and pace as well as the story itself. A nice, easy listen that will whet your appetite for the next 2 books.
