When the Secretary of the Navy's nephew says he believes that two colleagues at a U.S. naval base may be committing fraud, his uncle is skeptical. Reluctant to launch an official investigation based on a relative's vague suspicions, the secretary asks John Mahoney to send his troubleshooter, DeMarco, to check out the story. As DeMarco and his friend Emma, a retired CIA agent, began to investigate, they come to the terrifying realization that an espionage ring has infiltrated the naval base.

I just listened to both of Michael's books, 'The Inside Ring' and 'The Second Perimeter'. I want more. Good action, keeps interest level high, and the 2ns book (The Second Perimeter) is even better than the first.

If you could sum up Red Sparrow in three words, what would they be?

Reality in fiction. Compared to other espionage books, this seems more real.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Red Sparrow?

    Secrets revealed.

Have you listened to any of Jeremy Bobb’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

New Year's Day, 1990. The Berlin Wall is coming down. The world is changing. And in a North Carolina "hot-sheets" motel, a two-star general is found dead. His briefcase is missing. Nobody knows what was in it. Within minutes Jack Reacher has his orders: Control the situation. But this situation can't be controlled.

    Any additional comments?

I read (listened to) a couple in the Jack Reacher series and decided to start from the beginning if the series and read the ones I missed in order.

The Enemy was interesting because it was like a prequel to the series.

It kept my interest and answered some unanswered questions from the series.

I had trouble putting it down.

When CIA "fixer" Micah Dalton's friend and mentor turns up dead, he's put on a collision course with a killer who has a penchant for intricate knife-work and Native American mysticism, a sadist who is killing ex-CIA agents. The victims are hard-nosed field men whose only link to one another seems to be a global surveillance operation called Echelon. The murders appear to be acts of retribution. But for what?

    Carmela08 says: "Excellent spy tale"
    "Interest and Anticipation every minute"
    Overall

It was simply one of the best I have read (well, listened to). Just dark and mysterious enough, without going too far. Held my interest. I did not want it to end.

It's a gorgeous autumn day in Georgetown. The Democratic candidates for president and vice-president of the United States are dutifully glad-handing voters and the media outside a grand estate where a national-security conference has just been held, bringing together the world's greatest minds to discuss the issues that are threatening the country. It's American politicking at its best. That's when all hell breaks loose.

One of the best. Keeps moving. A simple, entertaining tale. If only the real world worked this way ::-)

When Michael Garrick, a young White House lawyer, begins dating the irresistible First Daughter, Nora, he's instantly spellbound, just like everyone else in her world. Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense pro who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, to defend clients at the bottom of the legal food chain. It's no wonder that he is despised by cops, prosecutors, and even some of his own clients. But an investigator is murdered for getting too close to the truth and Haller quickly discovers that his search for innocence has taken him face to face with a kind of evil as pure as a flame.

Steven says: "Great Legal Thriller, Great Reader"
    "Interesting and Educational"
    Overall

A highly interesting and educational view of how defense lawyers work; told inside a suspenseful thriller. This is one of the better legal thrillers I have read. Interesting character development showing a complex personality, with positive and negative attributes. I highly recommend The Lincoln Lawyer.
