Enjoyed this book, it was intresting to retreat to a late 60's murder and solve it in modern times. Some of the tie in's after 30 years seems a bit far fetched. Sue Grafton seems to detour from the main plot in an effort to tie in previous book sub-plots of Kinsey's past. The two retired and feable policemen did not add much to the book cast of charactors. I do like the idea of using an old unsolved murder as the basis for the novel, it keeps you thinking even after you've finished the book.
While Stephanie Plum and her family were as crazy as ever, there seemed to be a difference in Stephanie, as certain maturity. This was a very entertaining book, I found myself laughing out loud many times. I enjoyed the further development of the character "Bob" and his strange eating habits (you'll see). A recommended listen.
I'm a fan of the Harry Bosch novel series, I was a little dissapointed with this one, especially after listening to The Narrows previously. The suspense was limited, and the book primrily focused on detective work, and department politics. The killer was obvious the moment introduced to the reader (listner).
I'm beginning to feel this author has fallen into the "crank them books out" mode. I do however like the idea of Harry working in the "Cold Case" department.
While the names were changed the characters and plot were not. Metro Girl is really just a location and name change for Stephanie Plum. For those that enjoy that series they will enjoy Metro Girl. NASCAR Guy was a little unbelieveable, and I kept looking for LuLu to show up somewhere. Fairly fun light humor. Okay for the commute to work listen.
Wow, I really liked this book! The historical period of the book in medieval France is a time and location that is not always used in many historical novels. The details of the battle scenes were very realistic and held my interest throughout the book. I'm looking forward to another one of these coming out. Great ending too!
